This game is superb, inspite of it's borderline hentai aesthetic. The roster is huge, the Arcana sytem is very creative, all characters are well design with really great moves. This is as good as a modern 2D figther can get, on par with Melty Blood. I liked it better than I was expecting. Strongly recommend it to anyone that likes 2D arcade figthers more on the bonkers tip of the scale, such as Waku Waku 7 and Asuka 120%.
Highly recommend if you want a freeform uniquely mobile game(the ceiling on stages is SOOOO high for a reason lmao) with strong interactive defense to counteract powerful offense, low time investment to get decent(easy solid combos for most characters), a high skill ceiling, interesting varied neutral, and one of the better balanced fighting games without feeling neutered! The game gives you so much freedom for movement, defense, offense, different neutral play patterns, etc. Matches are so varied and the game feels so full and exciting. Thanks to Pangaea and Armonte's mod, this now has good rollback and more features! And more features are coming like +r style lobbies and quick rematch. Out of so many fighting games, this is my favorite fighting game ever despite it historically having issues like a lacking port. I was bringing this to locals and getting people into it even though it had no rollback, and it worked because the game is just that good. This is the best fighting game you've never played, and after 17 years it finally has rollback with a mod that is linked in the discussion forum. If damage feels low, that's because you haven't learned your combo routes yet. If movement feels slow, that's because you haven't learned how to zoom zoom yet.
