While it has its problems, I really enjoy this fighting game. Pros + Compelling MVC style gameplay + Has rollback now + Beautiful animation + Android 21 + The tide turning Dragon Wish mechanic Mid: ~ I like the dramatic finishes, but having them be tied to stage is stupid Cons: - Too many buttons can do an auto-combo - Cumbersome menu - Please give us more stages - Fairly aggressive DLC - Worthless and antiquated DRM that makes it take a long time to load the game - They stopped giving characters seasonal alternate colors at some point - While I'm at it, I really wish there were more alternate costumes besides the one for Videl - Boring story mode that serves no purpose other than unlocking a character for free - Why does Vegito gotta be SSJBlue. Give the man SSJ2.
I'm not big into fighter games (minus the Marvel Capcom ones) but love Dragonball and the fighting game it has. Had this on Switch way back and always wanted it on the Steam Deck, waited for a good sale. Very easy to get running with GE-proton to bypass the anti-cheat system (install via Desktop Mode). Game SHOULD just let you play it offline with no cheat system needed. But, oh well. Played nearly all the old DBZ games off the SNES and up. This one is one of the best to experience the story of DBZ. (Super Saiya Densetsu will always be my favorite, great times!) The visuals in this are definitely the best though. Extremely satisfying when landing a combo or beam attack.
