Spent many hours of my childhood here fighting the Tan army on my PS2. This game and command and conquer made me fall in love with strategy games as a whole and would lead me to play even more great games such as Company of heroes and Star wars empire at war.

Awesome classic RTS game! Has a decent campaign mode as well as skirmish and multiplayer. The graphics are a little chonky but there's a mod to allow for some modern feature support. Plays a lot like the old Age of Empire games.

A fun Retro RTS that brings youre childhood alive with army men the boys war toy come to life. It has aged oki not quite modern rts but it is enoph to be happy with if you can forgive it age it a fun time. with barley any rts type games being made lately you will be happy with this. I highly recommend this if you love retro rts game or even army men.

Positives 1. Solid story and easy to follow. 2. Gameplay is easy, base building and unit building is very simple. Controls are rather, simple. 3. (Interesting feature), when a unit dies or a structure is destroyed. They turn into a harvestable resource. (Something that most modern day RTS games dont have). 4. Has a skirmish mode (ie. Greate battles) is nice, these are battles that are already made that are pretty fun, good way to get familier with unit effectiveness and figure out the best way to use them. The more and harder missions will be unocked as you go through the campaign. 5. Recources are very simple to gather, two different types of resources: Plastic (litterally everything is made out of this, since there all toys) and Electricity (which vehicles use this). 6. Great game for anyone who wants a silly, fun game with toys waging a war with each other. 7. Units are all the same, making them very simple to use properlly. These units are Vietnam era units, Grunts (Rifleman) use M-14s (though the M-16 is seen in the game but not in use by any unit), Tanks in the game are M-48 Pattons, Machine gunners use the M-60, Choopers (the famed UH-1 Huey, its the gunship varient) The exceptions are: the Half-track, which is a WW2 era unit and a few others. Negatives 1. Graphics; this game was made in the early 2000s so the graphics are kind old and kinky 2. I said controls are simple, but it is a bit awkward though. 3. No Veterency point system; units will not get stronger as they see more combat. (though some missions, do have power ups.) 4. There isnt an actual skirmish, where you can choose the map and faction, only one faction to play (Green Nation) 5. Litterally all the units are the same, so there are'nt any distinctive differences between the two factions except for the colors. 6. Multiplayer doesnt really work very well, but I heard if you get GameRanger you could solve the problem.

Played this in my youth way back before 2008 on the gamecube, which was a struggle because the scroll speed was pretty lock set. This isn't a terrible port. I wondered if there was any possibility the multiplayer worked. I don't believe it does. Once you get past the changing the resolution of the game which is simple. You just go ahead and change your Computer or laptop to a lower resolution once you do you can change the in game resolution to high and usually after that you can in fact go back to your default best suggested resolution(native resolution). The game looks prestine in my opinion once you get that done (for a game this old). Good old classic rts campaign fun. Love the voice lines although they repeat a lot. The story the 3DO creation of Army Men which just feels so fun to play and look at toy soldiers, love the kill and death and explosion effects. Yea it's not a whole lot of replay value unless you really have nostalgia for games of the period of time well before 2010 but if you do have that want to either revisit those experiences or if you are younger and can appreciate and older game it's not bad for the price.
