I don't leave reviews on games very often, but Cossacks is a childhood game of mine. For context, I was born in 2001. I remember when my uncle showed me the game and taught me how to play it. I was 7 years old at the time, and I fell in love. I remember even getting in trouble one time for skipping basketball practice just so I could play it. It was a CD copy at the time. A couple of years later, my brother and I would get an old COMPAQ computer from the mid-90s, and the only thing we ever used it for was to play Cossacks, as we got the discs for it for Christmas that year. It was phenomenal. European Wars was...ehh. But Art of War and Back to War are still great RTS games to this day. Fast forward to a few years ago, and I'd gotten a laptop for gaming, and I wanted to see what games on Steam I could get. Lo and behold, I search this out of curiosity. Turns out GSC has these on Steam, as well as the sister series American Conquest. While I don't have the childhood connection to AC, it's still a fun game. But this? This is peak for me.

One of my favorite childhood games. Sadly the compatibility with Windows 10/11 suffered severely and it doesn´t work as well as it used to.

At first, Game has a lot of errors. But after closing it and opening it for 2 times, Errors will be gone and game will run perfectly smooth without any issues. Gameplay is somehow complex. Not simple but it was awesome! Not boring and it will give you a thrilling feeling due to massive armies you can create. I highly suggest you do the tutorials first as this game needs a high IQ to understand. Very unique RTS yet cool at the same time. It's a YES for me :)
