I understand that I probably suck at the game, I find myself retrying races over and over. This game is awesome but it would be nice if it wouldn't take 15 button presses to restart a race. I know it seems petty but it would also save some time if the count down to the beginning of a race was cut down to just 3 seconds. I understand that these requests are kind of ridiculous but when I restart a race 50 times, all of it adds up. I want to reiterate that I love the game but I crash a ton. Just make it quicker to restart and it will be perfect.
at this moment, all i can say is that the physics of this game are actually insane. the ffb is a decent upgrade when comparing it to the original ac game. its very refined and very well done, although the game isnt very optimised. also, frame generation is doing absolutely nothing besides making the game even less smooth. i am using the moza r3 btw. gamepad support is decent but pretty hard to get used to and definitely needs improvements. i fully understand the game is early access and there is a lot of space for improvement. im going to be waiting for the full release and hopefully its gonna be more refined than the current state. the game is worth it imo.
Assetto Corsa Rally – the game where physics slaps you and you say “thank you” Assetto Corsa Rally is a game that gently whispers “Be precise.” …and then absolutely ruins your entire run because you were 2 km/h too optimistic. This is not an arcade game. This is a humility simulator. A simulator of how quickly you can go from “future rally legend” to “local tree enthusiast.” Physics – also known as “reality with no filter” There is no “eh, I’ll save it.” You won’t. Brakes aren’t a button. They’re a negotiation. Throttle isn’t your friend. It’s a trust exercise. The steering wheel isn’t a toy. It’s a peace treaty between you and the nearest ditch. Mess up weight transfer? The car explains it immediately. Overcook the entry? The forest welcomes you. Misjudge a crest? Congratulations, you’re now briefly an aircraft. The physics are so honest it sometimes feels like the car is judging you personally. Gravel – the true final boss Asphalt supports you. Gravel tests you. Mud psychologically dismantles you. Grip exists… theoretically. It’s like your confidence before the first corner — you think you have it, but it disappears very quickly. And the best moment? When you slide through a corner in a perfectly controlled drift and think: “Yeah. That’s how pros feel.” Two corners later: Reset stage. Trees – the real multiplayer mode Trees are not background objects. Trees are active participants. They wait. They watch. They calculate. Every rally player has that moment: “I can fit through there.” Sometimes you do. Sometimes the tree disagrees. Scoreboard: Tree – 1 You – 0 Force feedback – when the wheel tells the truth If you’re playing with a wheel, you already know. You feel every rock. You feel the front losing grip. You feel the rear planning betrayal. And sometimes you feel the wheel quietly saying: “That was a bad idea.” Sweaty hands. Heart rate 160 BPM. Brain: “One more stage.” The psychological cycle of every run “I’ll drive clean this time.” “Okay that was fast.” “Maybe I can push a bit more.” “I got this.” You absolutely do not got this. “Alright, next time I’ll be careful.” It’s a loop. It’s a condition. It’s beautiful. Sound – mechanical violence, but in a good way Engines scream. Turbos breathe. The gearbox complains. At 160 km/h on a narrow gravel road, the sound of rocks hitting the chassis is basically the soundtrack of adrenaline. Sometimes it feels like the car is yelling: “WHY?” And you reply: “BECAUSE I CAN.” You can’t. The biggest lie in rally gaming “This time, no mistakes.” You say it every run. You mean it every run. You are wrong every run. But then there’s that one stage. That one perfect attempt. Everything clicks. The car rotates exactly how you want. Braking is precise. Exits are clean. No drama. You’re 0.7 seconds faster. 0.7 seconds. And you feel like you just won the World Rally Championship. Final verdict This isn’t a game where you compete against others. You compete against: your own overconfidence your own mistakes your own “yeah, I can take this flat out” 10/10 The trees know me by name. The car doesn’t trust me. I don’t trust myself. And I’m starting another stage tomorrow.
I've only ever played this game with the Xbox controller. Initially, I absolutely hated it, as I was spending more time in the trees than on the road and was ready to ask for a refund. I decided to read a few reviews on here and saw comments saying that other people had similar experiences with the Xbox controller. Then I watched a YouTube video showing a guy playing with the same controller who was having a blast. So I decided to commit… Firstly, I changed the input settings: Settings → Inputs → Device Settings → Gamepad Steering Linearity: 0.6 Steering Deadzone at Centre: 20 Then I gave it more time, and I’m so glad that I did. I went to the stages with the Mini Cooper, as I'd heard this was a good place to start. After a few hours of play, I started to get the knack of it and could actually finish a stage, getting a Bronze time. Now, with a bit of practice, I can consistently get Silver times, and I’ve even got one Gold so far. Honestly, I absolutely love the game now. I've played a lot of WRC 10 and thought that was the pinnacle of rally games, but AC Rally is on another level. The learning curve is definitely steeper, but once you start to get the feel of the car and how braking and acceleration affect weight distribution - and therefore steering -you can really start to gain confidence and speed. I never found this level of progression with WRC. The only thing I really can’t understand is how difficult the Rally Events “Special Stages” (aka “SS”) are. They’re different from the standard stages in that you’re racing other virtual drivers rather than just against the clock. You have to get 10th place (out of 20 or 25, I think?) to get Bronze, maybe 5th for Silver, and 1st for Gold. I can’t even get close to Bronze, yet on the normal stages I can consistently get Silver. Maybe this will be changed in future versions. Overall: 9/10 from me — love it.
I can finally see a future where I will have only one good rally game installed on my pc instead of 4 bad ones. Even if in early access atm I can say that Assetto Corsa Rally is a breath of fresh air for the rally fan community. If you're chasing realism, this game has it, the physics are impressively close to real-world driving, capturing the weight transfer, grip loss, and surface transitions with great accuracy. Visually, it's in a league of its own. The graphics are arguably the best in the genre, with dynamic weather effects that just look stunning. From fog-drenched forests to rain-slicked gravel, the atmosphere is as immersive as it is brutal. Then there’s the stage design: absolutely fantastic. Each route feels handcrafted, with natural flow and elevation changes. For the performance..well the game for me runs at 120 fps at lower graphics and still looks better than EA WRC or DirT 2.0 even on an old gtx 1080. This isn’t just a game—it’s a love letter to rallying. Thank you Assetto Team.
