I remember playing this when you still had to use a computer disk to play it on old desktops. Playing this again now takes me back to those days when you could pretty much spend all day playing Backyard Baseball on the computer. My plan is to download each backyard sport game with each paycheck that I get. Love that I'm able to relive my early life.

If your a beginner, I'd recommend this team: 1 Pete Wheeler: in my opinion, the best player in the game. He is by far the fastest runner in the game, with pretty good power to compliment his running abilities. stick him in the outfield somewhere to really put his speed to use. Heck, he's even a good back-up pitcher. He doesn't have good vision, and will pop up a bunch of hits, but his run scoring potential make him the best kid in the game. Hes also dumber than a sac of potatoes. Not to mention he's also the funniest kid in the game. (MY NAMES NOT PAPA WHEELY, IT'S PETE WHEELER!) 2 Pablo Sanchez: amazing on offence, but is honestly pretty bad at defence due to his height, so just hide him in left field and hope the ball doesn't go his way. You see, he is so short he can't reach for the ball with his tiny arms. He's great at snatching up grounders, but he wont catch anything else. Despite his poor fielding, he is one of the best pitchers in the game, but I'd recommend putting a different kid as a pitcher, who I'll talk about soon. 3: Achmed Khan: one of the best hitters in the game, MAYBE even better than Pablo, but hes just decent at defence. I put him at third base, where his decent catch and arm get the job done. He does sometimes elect to nash at his his air guitar instead of... catching the ball, which might be frustrating, but it's very rare. 4: Amir Khan: on his own hes a decent player with a good bat, but pair him up with his big bro and he becomes an absolute power hitter. Surprisingly good on defence as well. I personally put him at shortstop, but hes also a good first baseman. He'll go on and on about how cool his brother Achmed is, which is pretty wholesome that they have such a good bond. He and Achmed want to make a band called "Achmed and the Raging Cool Dudes" which is such a fire name. 5: Angela Delvecchio: easily the best pitcher in the game, and is WAAAY better than Kenny. People who say Kenny is better are crazy. Angela also has good power, and has actually hit my farthest homerun throughout my time playing the game (711 feet) She IS slow and has a weak arm however, so you should have a good catcher for all the doinks the AI hits. She is very cocky, and believes she is the best kid in the league, which NO, but she's not TOO far off. 6: Tony Delvecchio: Speaking of a good catcher, Tony. He is Angela's big brother, but is honestly a bit worse than her. He has one of the strongest arms in the game, only beat by I believe Mikey Thomas. (I don't know for sure, Tony's might be better.) And he has a good catch. He's an even better hitter than his little sister, but only has mediocre speed. I think Angela's pitching is more valuable than Tony's catcher...ing... but hes still a good choice. Like his sister Angela he is extremely cocky, saying things like "I meant to do that" After missing the game-winning catch. (This makes him a really funny character.) 7: Keisha Phillips: She is overall just a beast. Powerful swing, fast running, trusty catch, good arm, she's a very good player. Her ONLY flaw is her swing is a bit slow, and she has a huge strike zone and swing spot, making it harder to make contact with the pitch. 8: Dmitri Petrovich: You might be thinking I'm crazy for choosing the kid nicknamed paste of all people, but he HAS to be THE MOST CRIMINALLY SLEPT ON KID IN THE GAME! He's a power hitter for sure, even though he only has a 3/4 in batting, he's a 4/4 in my heart. He has surprisingly good speed for a kid of his body type, and has better fielding than you would expect from a 2/4. He just gets tired faster than other kids. THAT'S HIS ONLY FLAW. He is easily a top 9 player, WAKE UP PEOPLE! 9: This was a very hard choice, because there are so many good players in this game. But I have decided to nominate: Dante Robinson. He has a decent bat, and is very fast. On defence, he can hold his own in the outfield with a good catch and arm, but don't put him in the infield. He's short like Pablo, so throws and hits will go over his head or to the side, and he will either drop it or let it soar by. His swing is very slow, but once you get used to it, he should make it on base very commonly, where his speed can produce a run. Honourable mentions: Mikey Thomas: A very powerful bat and arm, but he's very slow. Luanne Lui: Second fastest runner in the game, just beat by Pete. She's also a good pitcher, but she is a terrible fielder. Annie Fraisure: Good contact and power, and good speed. Nothing too special about her fielding abilities. overall a good player.

Great game, incredibly addicting. Super fun baseball game that makes me feel good because I can't play baseball in real life because I'm unathletic.
