A number of people are going to get filtered by the vibe check on the game's store page or trailer, but for someone who went down to actually read the reviews I do have to preface that even if it looks like a meme game, it is built on actually good game design at its core. For starters it is phenomenally well paced, it is high octane action, fights don't take too long, and you only have about 4-8 per zone depending on if you do optional ones, so the game's always throwing new setpieces or story bits, but without those taking too long too. And even appearing as an edgy game that doesn't give a crap about anything, you can access the game's original draft through a cheat code and see just how much effort actually went into pacing to cut down on bits that contribute little to story or characters, scenes existing just for the sake of being edgy and meme scenes that took way too long. As well as be able to take off its mask of irony when it actually wants to say something. Thematically the game is this blend of Newgrounds age obscene humor with gangsta hood vibes filtered through a magical girl show prism with a splash of furry. A lot like the anime series Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, in fact I would call it the closest there is to a PSG game, and the best part is, it achieved that while keeping its own identity and not devolve into referential humor. For being a RPGMaker game, it doesn't rely on stock art and music either, its all this MS Paint like art with a bopping soundtrack. The gameplay is a turn based RPG meant to evoke a spontaneous shootout, very few fights last over 4 turn cycles, and a few even provide the space to assemble one turn kills. And resource management over a long dungeon crawl does not apply. There's a lot of playable characters to experiment around with, while the majority lean into hyper offense, there still are healers, tanks, support casters and joke characters that barely do anything. The game also greatly simplifies the magic/physical split in RPGs by just making them into the colors blue and yellow, with white existing as a neutral that can bypass defenses but not scale from buffs. And enemies and their attacks being color coded, makes it intuitive, however for people that love to figure out more arcane mechanics, there are moves on a number of characters that scale on the target's element, sex or some weirder traits like being mechanical, but the game not devolve into type charts. There is no leveling and the number of fights in game is fixed, the progression comes from gear and skills you pick up, with the rare stat consumable. So it is entirely up to assembling builds that work together. There is no distinction between weapon, armor and accessory, different characters just have different numbers of equip slots and you can mix and match however you want. There's also 3 difficulty options at default, with a cheat code for both an even easier one. And a code for adding up to 4 run modifiers on top that can also turn the game into a prolonged resource management of juggling the few consumables the game gives against persistent damage and status effects between fights, or KO status not healing between fights especially rewarding knowing the sequencing going into stage end back to back fights with no stop against enemies with more stats. The game to reach credits could take between 1,5 hours to 4, and about 12-20 hours for 100% depending if you use a guide or not as there's multiple endings. Throw in extra if you want to do a run on the max possible difficulty. (Though the game may be expanded in an update, the game already contains a teaser for around 3 not yet playable characters hidden away, check in if my review got updated since posting) Weirdly I have very little to actually to complain about that isn't being addressed in some capacity. Runs having an RNG element to decide which bonus characters from the 3 character pool you can access in a run and the 2 unwieldy equips that grant a unique skill based on who equips it being a major chore to even check your options can be just circumvented by cheat codes that just gives the skills/items you want if you need. Well maybe lacking a way to skip dialogue on your 4th or 5th run into an ending you already did, there's not exactly a cutscene distinction for any segment, even out of battle. And some skill descriptions being unclear, which could be a downside if you don't like experimentation, but there is no egregious case where you fundamentally can misunderstand the whole concept because of it. Which is odd given some skills extra emphasize what they do. Last one is more of a request to add a picture book in the library section that actually explains what the status effects are and show how their icons look like, because the game has no tooltips to check the icons in battle. Definitely one of my favorite games on Steam, but I do understand that it has largely niche appeal, although I don't imagine someone that against a game like this would have down so far down into a review of it. Do consider giving it a shot, its like 3 dollars, its really well made and worth it. Edit. 26/06/23 The game received a sizable update, mostly focused on rebalancing and fleshing out the cheat code exclusive challenge mode, as well as organically add in new characters and items into the game and story that doesn't feel out of place or tacked on. Still looks like it has a few updates planned though.

"It looks like that on purpose, right? So it's like a parody of RPGs I guess?" Not really. It's more like a concentrated blast of pure creative human soul. It's almost desperately genuine in an absolutely adorable way and I did not expect to feel so gripped and inspired. Loved every second of it.

I... can't put into words how good this game is. I'm not even joking, those who know me can affirm I hate memes, lulspeak, trolling, and am generally tuned out of internet culture. I get it. Look at this game. The trailer? The screenshots? Looks like trash, right? But here's the thing: I'm a AAA game engine dev who's been doing this for multiple decades at this point. That means I KNOW what it takes to make a real game. Look at the trailers again. See that? That takes EFFORT. And CARE. And a LOT of it. Despite everything else that would've put me off from the game, I bought it for that reason alone, just to see what this really was. I was not disappointed. This game is a masterpiece. If you have EVER played a modern big blockbuster game and thought "Do game developers even care anymore?". Yes. Some still do. Some of us still fight the good fight. This game is proof of that. God, is this game proof of that. (Normally I'd leave a more analytical review of a game, but this game has gotten me all emotional, which is just further proof to me that it's truly something special)

Absolute work of art, extremely enjoyable game and a hidden gem. I threw a brick through my neighbor's windshield 5 years ago and they still don't know that I did it. Hope more people get to experience this masterpiece.

Very ABDL core. This is the kind of ♥♥♥♥ age regressors/Femtaynl fans put on for foreplay before taking turns punching each other in the stomach really hard and whimpering.
