April 2026
Is this game worth it? Depends on who you ask. I genuinely had fun with the game, so i say yes. I will first start with the "bad" things here and end on a "good" note. (Side note: I have and tried all current playable characters , pets and vehicles (all max level) , and 100% of the achievements) Things that are bad, that need a fix or added into the game in no particular order: - No sorting and not enough item categories. The lobby inventory can get real messy real fast. - The audio is all over the place. You don't know you're being attacked while searching a chest until near death or dead. There is almost no feedback for when you take damage. - Searching takes way too long. - Some reloads are painfully slow. - Some Skills are painfully slow with startup and cooldown. - The unstuck button covering your health, sanity and stamina while searching a chest or checking inventory. - No separate aiming sensitivity, this is crucial in a 3rd person shooter in my opinion. I noticed that i kept swapping dpi on my mouse going into and leaving missions. - All vehicles are bad, at a certain speed, turning becomes impossible, almost like you're driving on ice. Driving over the same enemy too fast literally is like driving into a wall. Complete stop. Stuttering while accelerating. - Camera snapping at random intervals or when certain things happen. Hard to explain this. - Refusing to grab climbable ledges. - Stats that don't seem to do anything. - Shooting an enemy, but invisible collision says no. - No bulk crafting. - Sanity drains too fast. - Grenades are so bad. - The second shotgun (not the baretta) at close range makes the spread go into the outside of your screen edges. It's by far the worst weapon in the game. - The last mission and free explore have a memory leak, I went from stable 60fps 1920x1080 to 10 fps. I don't know what causes this, if certain things like rain just keep falling infinitely to dropped items staying rendered, checked chests that still have inventory in them? I honestly can't say and i tried many things like killing every enemy, looting every chest etc. - The final Limited Time Mission that need keycards has no rewards. The chests are there, but nothing happens when you search them. - Some base outfits look better in my opinion then the crafted skins. So having a "show/don't show" on those skins is appreciated if added. (Skins have stats on them, base outfit does not). - Character slider is very unintuitive. I thought my game was broken because I couldn't scroll or click and grab the character portraits to select a different investigator. - No save data stored in steam cloud? (I don't know if the game is stored online on developers end or not. This is very scary thing in 2026). Now for the good things in no particular order: - The character and enemy design is very appealing. The weapons and skills also look awsome. - Certain nods to different games and "memes". - World/Mission design is nice. Has an actual story even if its small. - Every character feels different and unique. - Probably the biggest win for this game is this: There is gacha, but it's not with real money. Stay like this. The gacha is very generous. - Has great potential to expand. So yes, even with all these flaws, I still enjoyed the game. Not everyone can get past these things, but if you put them aside, you can have a good time with the game. And if updates happen, I will gladly update my review. Until we meet again o/

I actually do enjoy this for what it is. It's kind of a strange game, being a 1 player (Well there's a co-op mode but still) 3rd person looter shooter. The tutorial made me think it might be more story based or horror, but instead it's quite fun arcadey action. There could be some things explained better, like the "sanity" mechanic that drains your health when it gets too low and can spawn minibosses, or the fact you can use the vehicle in free roam by hitting E next to the door without a prompt. Or how the hell you're meant to beat that Joyful Circus timed challenge! >:o But overall it's fairly straightforward to pick up. I will say, the ingame gacha's fun but could do with less weapons and more general items and characters. You have to pull a LOT to unlock all the girls, and they make a lot of difference at that. Balance is up and down with them; the Chef is just best in slot at the moment thanks to her attack skill and overall solid stats, whereas the Idol while fun just can't keep up with damage at all. It's nothing unfixable though. I hope there will be more challenges, characters and things added. Also a free camera/photo function for action shots. :3

Alright, this is game is really, REALLY rough. Good: It's literally $3. I really wish I could add more here but that's kinda where it ends. The dev is putting in a real effort for bug fixes and improvements and I think that's commendable. The most recent patch is a good show of this as they've cut the load times and install size to about a quarter of what it was before. Neutral: The character models look alright. The gameplay is serviceable. Bad: The bugs, the game is so incredibly buggy. I have a very common bug with the sniper character where after shooting AIMING pulling out your weapon with any character with a scoped weapon in first person, your ENTIRE UI will get pushed up and to the right and more often will be off screen. The only way to fix it will be to restart the game. It is VERY common for your weapon model to bug out and get locked in an awkward position, making first person aiming completely impossible. First person has been removed for now. I only have about an hour played but I've crashed a total of about 5 or 6 times, I haven't been able to determine exactly what causes the game to crash but it happens often enough to be frustrating. Looks like the crashing has mostly been fixed, haven't crashed in about two hours. I'm so confused on the game direction, it kind of wants to be a looter extraction shooter but it also wants to be a pseudo gacha game? So it has colored rarity weapons with randomly rolled substats and also uses in-game only currency and certain items for gacha pulls for weapons or a new character, but you can also dismantle a ton of weapons to craft a single randomly rolled weapon. Weapons are character-specific so if you have a weapon type you like but a character you don't, then you're kind of just out of luck. The controls specifically only for aiming and shooting are really awkward, its right click to aim first person and hold right click to aim third person but if you're holding aim, then reload, then let go of aim, you'll go into first person, making shooting and reloading really, REALLY awkward. Fixed as first person aiming has been disabled. After every single mission there is like a full minute or two long unskippable sequence where you have to just watch your character dance while it tallies up your score. It gets really old after the first time. Hot gooner third person shooter action horror games are my favorite hyperspecific genre but I really can't recommend this unless at LEAST the bugs are fixed. EDIT: I've played an extra two hours after seeing the last few updates added two new characters and bug fixes. I've adjusted some critiques above but it's still rough. Some new bugs: Ultrawide support was added, but the UI does not scale with the new resolution so everything will be off screen. Fixed. I don't know if its reproducible but I sold a ton of items at once and the game froze for a minute, then everything was extremely zoomed in, forcing me to add steam launch options to fix. From what it looks like, the dev is putting in a real effort to make the game more stable and playable. I will actually swap my review from negative to positive since most of the bugs I've found have been fixed.

Good simple fun. For the price its peak gaming. Clunky as hell but a well put together game loop. A free Gatcha system which hits just right. Just enough rng loot to get you to do one more run.
