I played 3 hours so far and gonna grind a bit more, but I am a veteran player when it comes to arpgs , survival games and so on. So even though I do recommend this game I have to warn that the game is very bare bones still, but it had potential. POSITIVES : Fun game play loop and with more content it should be even better. Crafting is simple and not tedious. Very good Stash implementation, you basically can upgrade one Stash to fit most of your stuff. People who like having many stashes with different types of material in all of them could not be as happy, but that can be done too. Combat is decent , still feels very much early access, but that is not a bad thing if it will be improved later on. Gear is quite simplistic but feels impactful. Building is quite good, it is simple and it does the job, I don't think it needs to be as complex as Valheim. NEGATIVES/ FEEDBACK the more important stuff at the moment : Leveling doesn't feel exciting at all, you just get skill points to open skill/glyph slots and that's it. I feel that this should be improved a lot, leveling is one of the dopamine hits in arpg, you have to feel it , maybe get stat points, maybe some talent trees or what not, a lot of option can be explored here. Classless doesn't feel that great, you have no need at all to create new character apart from the fact that maybe map is gonna be a bit different. Only few games do classless very good but in my opinion classes are cool and fun, there should be some way to specialize your character that is somewhat permanent or requires a lot to change so you have incentive to make different character. I think doing some kind of classes that maybe have different talent trees that give thematic passive and skill modifying options, but still letting you be whatever you want with those specializations would be awesome. Combat doesn't feel punchy enough , but that I would assume should be better with time. Map needs a lot of work, you should be able to place markers and some other stuff, maybe see level of zones that you visited when you mouse over that area. Left click is melee , right click is ranged or wand attack, honestly I really hate this , even if you just wanna play bow or mage you still have a melee attack on left click, it feels weird having two buttons for basically same purpose. I think if you wanna mix range with melee you should just use skills for melee attacks or the other way around if you are more focused melee. Game is worth a try, I will be spending more time with it and see where I can leave more feedback, I think it had great potential if it gets frequent updates.

I sort of heading into this game without much research. I like it a lot, and I hope the game continues to be developed. Here are the things I like, and those which make me concerned about its potential direction, or potential lack thereof. Pros: * Open world. Much like Valheim but not so hard core. * the base combat is fun * An interesting armor/stats and skills system * a variety of abilities to choose from * the graphics are bad, I like them and when the light comes out its more noticeable that the graphics have a bit more than at first glance to it * the overall gameplay is fun, and has great potential. I noticed a number of reviews which indicate this same sentiment, and I think its spot on. Cons and Potential issues: FORENOTE: This just barely released as Early Access, so there is a good deal of leeway in allowing it to develop before commenting on issues, but for the sake of those deciding if buying it now is worth it, you have the right to know the current limitations and issues. * There are a lot of little bugs, and a few which can cause a good deal of aggravation. - changing keybinds: if you click to change a keybind in the menu, and then click another keybind to change that before you have selected a key for the first, it locks out the key so you cannot change it untill you reset all the keybinds and start from scratch - menus somewhat frequently close without apparent reason while you are trying to do things, like when transfering inventory - sometimes stuff doesnt load into view until your right on it, leading to potential death as you are sudden close or surrounded by enemies. - falling thru wood platforms and stairs you have set down in the game happens far too often. - early on, I lost a few items after death, not sure where they went. When I picked up my stuff that all dropped, it was no longer there. Fortunately, this has happened infrequently. - there are a few other minor glitches here and there, but these are the biggest encountered so far. * Gamplay issues: - a lot of stuff will hopefully be improved, but for now a lot of QOL features are missing. - Including inventory management features, like sort for your stash, and ability to prevent picking up certain loot would be nice. I dont need every arrow I come across if I dont use bows, for example. - Base Building needs more items - base building needs more defensive options - its unclear what rules apply to base building. In valheim, your stuff dropped via a gravity system, but not so here... apparently. Until you build stuff that doesnt have a lot of support, and come back to base to find a lot of it busted down. Not sure if this was due to "gravity" or something else. It is also unclear what base elements are damaged. When very damaged by rain, some will discolor, but its hard to discern, it looks so much like the normal healthy parts, but that is only noticeable sometimes and even then usually not until the part is almost gone. - base building needs QOL improvements like the ability to repair without individually clicking each part. I feel I should be able to click down and swipe across multiple parts, particularly since it is hard to select every small or covered part. I feel this would be best improved by making an area-based repair functionality. i.e. I click repair and wherever my cursor is, it repairs in an area around the cursor. - Base building should also have a construction flow, I feel, similar to the repair i just mentioned. Like if I continue to drag my cursor across a line while holding the build button it can build in succession. But this isnt a huge thing, just would be nice. - I havent uncovered my entire map, but so far I am seeing each island has one or two biomes. I dont want to spoil it for newcomers, so I wont mention them, but the amount of biomes is exceedingly limited, that ive seen. Really, only two biomes right now, if you dont include a certain "special" biome - There needs to be added more things to do out at sea. In valheim, the music changes to a sweaping tune and occasionally you could encounter things in that ocean, including things to mine, and even sea monsters. While Im not too keen on the ultra brutality of sea monsters, I think there could be a number of things adde to make sea travel more interesting. Including chance encounters with the fantastical. Perhaps a faery island that when once found, disappears when you leave, giving you one change to explore it and mine whatever it may offer. There could be the occasional whale sightings. Or, a squid you need to shoot at till it realizes you arent dinner. Maybe even sailfish, dolphins, or sharks that infrequently make appearances. Could even have storms that make you have to hunker down, cut the sails, and wait til they are over. a green or red mist, or other elemental events, perhaps even a black fog that makes you lose sight of everything except immediately around you, and you have to sail blind bcus the map fade and goes black until its over. A few sea birds occasionally crossing your path wouldnt hurt either. - Speaking of ships at sea, the game would benefit from improved boats. Sort of like valheim, a very basic boat to begin, and upgraded ones for deep water traversal. The islands need to be spaced out better, they currently are almost laid out like a grid and very close. Distancing them would improve the game experience and improve immersion. Improving the ship and sailing experience will greatly improve the game experience. As it is, sailing is mostly a distraction to the game, and feels like an afterthought not well implemented. - the boat currently in the game appears to sail backwards as fast as it does forward. I feel this should be limited to a 20 to 30% speed limit. - the boat, when approaching shore at full speed, slows down on its own, requiring time to set the ship close to shore. I feel this is a poor implementation, and that the ship should land more forcefully, maybe even throwing you off and rolling across the ground when it hits the land if you came in full speed. - The game content is lacking. Further progression of armor, levels, abilities, and exploration are a must. One thing that concerns me, is the Steam Store page for this game. It is rather brief, as tho someone put just a little up with minor effort in hopes of getting some sales. I have seen this before, and in every case, those games went nowhere. The developers, or wherever they got the game they are selling, simply did low-effort basics to get a game up to get sales off of with no intention of actually developing the game. I hope that is not the case for this game. Given the price of this early access game with not much content, I feel I may have wasted my money on it. It is far too pricey for such a state. I hope the developer is serious about making this game viable. As it is, I cannot recommend for the sale price I paid for it. If it were maybe $5, I could say this is acceptable, but for now, the price is way too high. You can buy fully finished games for less than this. But I do recommend the game if you get it at a lower price, even in its unfinished state it leaves one with a Valheim feel without the brutal experience of valheim. This is Valheim casual

Path of Exile meets Valheim if it were the year 2000. Sloppy and hard, but I like it.

I think this game has a lot of potential. However, there are a few aspects that I think needs to be fixed/changed/implemented. First: I think the developers need to slow down the raiding from NPCs. I'm in my early stage of base development and getting raided already. I understand it's easy but they still damage the base. Second: I really would like the game to prevent you from damaging your own base when trying to do things in the game such as craft, and killing NPCs. I also understand that it's a reality function but come on, the movement is already kinda choppy. Third: When building, please give us an option to move things around after they are already built. I spend more time destroying stuff and rebuilding than I do gathering resources and exploring. Fourth: The game needs a little bit more map functions such as placing markers, allowing us to type our own text, and allowing the map to be customizable in a sense where we can have a mini map on at all times instead of the map taking up the whole screen. Fifth: As any other if not most survival games, give us an option to edit or rename a container or chest. It helps clutter, and organization. Sixth: MULTIPLAYER, MULTIPLAYER, MULTIPLAYER. That is all. Overall, I think the game aesthetically is appealing, and it has great potential. I would mostly resemble this game closest to Valheim. In my opinion, this game should be cheaper than the $17 I spent on it for now. The game needs a bit more development, but other than that, it's not a bad game to play.

Overall it's pretty promising game - and surely in playable state - but there are hotfixes that need to be done. Enemies camping at players death spot forbidding to pick up gear are not fun, nor are every night raids. Also 1st boss should be fixed - you aggro him once and he chases you all around the map (that's the spirit!). Friendly fire to your house should be off and some kind of loot filter would be nice. In the other hand - game hits the spot between fast and slow gameplay, has nice, yet simple visuals (weather effects are gold!) and loot stats / skills upgrades are simple and fun. Looking foward with great interest, nice job, Dev!
