Bio Inc. Redemption is a medical (diagnostician) simulator. Think of *House M.D.* meets *Democracy 3*. There are two main modes: be a good guy and cure the patient of their diseases. Or be "Death" and hit them with all the worst maladies known to mankind to make them pine for the fjords within a set number of seconds (or whatever the challenge may be). The Death mode is actually way easier than the Life one. Death feels casual even on the hardest difficulty, while Life is pretty hard even on Medium. (Hey, just like real life!) While the game mechanics are generally rooted in reality (you need to deduce diseases from symptoms and the body's deterioration rate), the cases are far from realistic (not too many patients have 10–12 diseases simultaneously, including some of the "best" ones, like emphysema, leukemia, and lupus). Also, the point-collection mechanic felt really out of place. Luckily, it can be switched off fairly early in the game.
Bio Inc. Redemption I personally only played life so I can’t speak for the death option. I guess it’s interesting from an educational point of view. Although the game sometimes doesn’t make sense like you get 3 diseases that sometimes have nothing in common so it seems that the diseases the patient get are randomly chosen. Anorexia is not specific to female only and should be changed! In general it’s good if you have time to kill. I find it hard to play sometimes mostly because of the point system to progress the game. I personally find that healing Male patient is easier than female patient. I’m wondering if it’s only me or if the game based this on real facts, since IRL more women are misdiagnosed than male.
Fun game for sure, but the developers made an incredibly immature decision deciding to slip Anorexia Nervosa being 'a female only illness' into their game, which I don't understand everyone joking about. Other than that, I'd say it has gotten better and better as far as gameplay goes over time, and I love the ability to bounce between saving a patient and causing the diseases. Overall, good game, but incredible immaturity towards women.
