I hate writing reviews for Early Access games. But here we are. The easiest way I can explain BitCraft is this: think Old School RuneScape (yes, even with Sailing now), mix in some Wurm Online, and then sprinkle in the grind of Ark Survival Evolved. That’s the closest comparison I can give. What it’s not is another theme park, gacha-riddled, corporate “content treadmill” MMO that’s been shoved out the door half-baked. BitCraft doesn’t feel like that. It feels built with intention. Everything you do matters. It matters to you. It matters to your settlement. It matters to whatever Empire you’ve aligned with. A brand-new player can spawn in, join a settlement, and immediately contribute in a real way. Nothing feels useless. You’re not just grinding numbers for a personal stat page — you’re feeding into something bigger. So what is BitCraft actually about? Players shape the cities. Players shape the roads between them. The world persists and evolves based on what we build. It’s not about rushing to some artificial “endgame” like most MMOs. It’s about carving out a place you can call home with people you actually rely on. The biggest thing that stands out is the cooperation. Crafting matters. Gathering matters. Logistics matter. Politics matter. City development matters. It all feeds into a player-driven ecosystem. Combat exists, sure — but it’s not the entire identity of the game. This isn’t a dopamine speedrun. It’s slower. Intentional. It rewards patience. If you need constant flashing rewards and instant gratification, this probably isn’t your game. But if you like long-term progression and being part of something bigger than just your character sheet, it absolutely hits. The future looks bright. I’m fully prepared to sink hundreds of hours into hunting Sagi birds or sailing halfway across the ocean just to secure ore for the next tier of tools. The devs clearly care. They listen. They communicate. Updates come fast and they’re meaningful. For Early Access, that’s rare. And that’s why I took the time to write a review. /shrug

Let me explain the premium currency: first when you buy the game, you get 10,000 of it which is the equivalent of 30$. Second, the ONLY thing it can do is buy you the ability to create an "empire". An empire is a specific area on the map that you choose where it will be and the size of which coincides with how much you're willing to spend. After you have an empire, it takes in game resources to maintain NOT more money. So you'll need alot of people to help maintain your empire by gathering & crafting the required resources. You as the empire owner get a crown floating above your head and the title "emperor". So what can this pay for empire do in game? Nothing. You have no power or authority in game. No control over anything and no way to take over anyones settlements or another empire. Its literally an ego boost for those willing to pay for it or for a streamer wanting their name on the map. The grind is real, but thats exactly how the game is supposed to be. Loving everything about it so far.

I don't understand the folk leaving the negative reviews about it being a grindy crafting game, thats literally how its sold and it doesnt hide it. If you have a main character complex this game isnt for you. It's not like other games where you can master everything and be the GOAT. The idea is you forge a path in a couple professions and carve out a spot for yourself as others will need your services (just as you will need theirs). You can jack of all trades to a certain level but that will fall off at higher levels. You wont look at a town and be like "I built all this", you will look at it and just know you contributed. Literally gather mats, build useful things, then either sell things or contribute to your empire or claim (the one im in is nice and chill but also super organised to we have projects up on discord that everyone chips into for base progression, heart upgrades, extra crafting stations etc) Once you get to T3 and you have a decent ship and cart the worlds your oyster to start exploring further biomes. The map is colossal. Be active while gathering in higher level areas (as things can attack you) - think of it as similar to resource gathering in Eve etc. But once you get all your stuff back to base you can semi afk it while crafting and check back every 10 mins or so to keep it ticking over. No shortcuts, just patience and planning. If you like chill crafting games that let you do what you want in the world, this is for you.

It's like RuneScape but instead of being about adventure and slaying monsters it's about adventure and deforestation

A good game for people who need to always be playing at least 2 games simultaneously.
