The quality is here, but the player base is not. Microsoft made a good move to hire Ninja Theory as a developer however the hero based team PVP genre is saturated and player base is thinned out across other games. I want to see this game succeed, but i fear it will go into the forgotten history as did Lawbreakers and Evolve. More is needed to advertise this game and spread awareness. Most likely it will go F2P at some point and possibly die with a whisper.

Please check the edit below as i explain there why you should probably wait before buying this game. I've seen some reviews spread some misinformation and im here to clarify some of it 1 Leaver penality this does exist in the form of a leaver queue. Which means that leavers are going to be queued up with other leavers 2 Button mashing people say mashing is a thing but this is straight up not true for a few reasons - your dps is pretty bad if you don't mix your abilities in your auto combos - auto combos are not even true so if you don't mix it up most characters can break the combo by parrying a hit - you can dodge out of auto combos making it so you have to chase the opponent if they have a grain of skill 3 It being dead in a week it might die at some point but a lot of people are underestemating the power of crossplay, Don't forget that this game is free 2 play for people with Xbox gamepass and xbox players can just buy it outright, since there is crossplay between steam, windows store and xbox the game will be living for at least quite a while. 4 And some other complaints i've seen I don't know to much about the keyboard controlls as i use a controller but the game runs at a silky smooth 60fps for me (its is hard capped, i assume its because of crossplay) with not the greatest specs (1050 ti and a i5 6300hq) and i run everything on the highest setting (i can only achieve this by playing on fullscreen, if i wanted borderless i had to put everything on low). Some people also have day 1 balance complaints which will always be funny to me as it is quite hard to know the meta on the first day. all in all i recommend looking into this game on your own and not listening to the steam reviews to much. Even tho I'm gonna contradict this statement by saying that i recommend this to players that are tired of shooters/mobas but still want a fun team game. UPDATE: They said they where gonna fix the server stabilty (look into the replies for more info) but they still haven't done this. Even tho i think this game is great the servers really hold it back at this point, so i'm gonna recommend anyone to wait untill it is sure that they will actually fix this issue. also for some reason after the last patch my performance went down instead of up so i actually have to run everything on low and still get some frame drops (which is weird as they said that they improved stabilty).

When you're not working as a team, when you're not prioritising targets, when you're just 4 random people running around in the hopes of some solo victory, Bleeding Edge will come of as an annoying game where killing people takes a lot of time and effort, and where everything you do is undone by one healer in a floating chair spouting wall-e jokes at you... But when you're with the right people, when you time things together, when you have someone else's back and they in return have yours, Bleeding Edge shows itself as a wonderful team brawler; the style's great, the character designs are insane in a very endearing fun way, the combat while not always complex has a satisfying feel to every hit, the music just enhances the style, and because of the way ranged characters lock on guarantees 100% accuracy there's this feeling of a very defined set of rules to facing each character; you don't hope the range person will miss, you know they'll hit, and you know how much it's hurt, and you can factor that in to every decision you make as a team. I use a controller and while sometimes the lock on can be a bit finicky and the camera occasionally erratic, the game remains consistently fun, plus being blindsided by a train because you foolishly didn't look can often be a very funny thing anyway. That's the main thing really, the games fun, yes like any team game those matches where everyone isn't quite gelling together (I won't say "when the team your with is bad" because more often than not we're as much part of the problem, let's just be honest here we're all allowed to suck a little, it's perfectly fine if you take it in your stride and still have fun and at least try to work together well and actually be nice to everyone and all that regardless of anyone's, including your own, skill) can be frustrating but the lowest lows can also allow you to receive the highest highs and in this case that is absolutely true, with friends and with the right team and with a good enemy with close matches and back and forths this game becomes a blast :)

Fun but Overpriced It's a very simple, fun, arcade game, it's decent fun but not very deep yet, kind of like a hollow chocolate candy, it is also overpriced by about $20 USD and shoots itself in the foot big time on this part. It may become much more in the future, but at the moment it lacks depth in every way, many features are bugged, non existent, or not intuitive at all. At $5 USD it would be worth, at $10 it's at its limit and $15 is a stretch. $30 USD is way out of touch, wait a bit and pick it up on a bundle site later, or jump on XBOX and grab it free* with XBOX game pass as intended.

Wish Steam had the option to vote in between. Pretty good time spender if you want to play with friends. But very low content and I've played the beta to this. They've added nothing! It would probably be good in about 1 year or so but for now, it gives you a bit of hours of entertainment but the game seems incomplete. Buy it at a discount, full price not worth it at the moment for the amount of content it has.
