My favorite game from the series hands down. I love this game, finished it so many times over the years. Of course it has rough edges! It's older than some people's children. 😂 And honestly, that's part of the charm. Give me an ambitious 2002 game with a strong identity and some jank over another sterile modern game designed by committee any day. 😂 Blood Omen 2 walked so modern gothic action games could run. For everyone that has problems with the game just google Blood Omen 2 Revamped and download the zip, extract the file in the zip in the Steam folder where Blood Omen 2 exe is and play. Works beautifully on Windows 10 and 11 Cheers! Love seeing Crystal Dynamics once again own the rights to Legacy of Kain. I hope they remake Blood Omen 2 and expand the universe!
All you have to do about it is to modernize the textures and implement modern controls like you did with the good old Tomb Raider franchise... the fact that the community neglects this game says all about it, they suck blue spectral dees and deserve to be dishonored with such deviant crap as LoK Ascendance, I hope you loved that crap - I know you didin't x'D - so F-U Soul Reaver fanboys who hate BO2 suck on my non spectral material fat dee.
I had an absolute blast with this one!!! I loooove LOVE KAIN!!! So playing as him again after BO1 was such an incredible thing to me! It was absolutely fun. I liked the city, I liked the vibes, everything was Gothic and beautiful as hell! I’m sad that I now only have one game left in this universe! My only complaint is that Kain didn’t say “Vae Victis” not even once!! Can you believe this?! Huh?! Overall, I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it. This was a game I spent hours with back on the GameCube, and coming back to it now brings a strong sense of nostalgia that’s hard to separate from the experience itself. If you’ve never played it before, it’s worth being honest, the game shows its age. Movement can feel clunky, combat isn’t as smooth as modern titles, and some of the mechanics take a bit of getting used to. It doesn’t have the polish players might expect today. That said, there’s still a lot to enjoy here. The gameplay has a unique charm, especially in how it lets you approach combat. You’re not just hacking away at enemies, there are multiple ways to take them down, from using the environment to more brutal, creative vampire abilities. That variety keeps things interesting and gives the game its own identity. Ultimately, Blood Omen 2 is one of those titles where your enjoyment may depend on what you’re looking for. If you can look past the dated mechanics, there’s a fun, atmospheric experience underneath, and for those who grew up with it, a strong hit of nostalgia that makes it all the more memorable.
Kain is my most favorite character among many great characters I have played with. Even though franchise fans don't like this one in the series, I had fun playing it. The voice actor, Simon Templeman did a great job with Kain, continuing the great performances in the previous games, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2. I had the in-game freezing issue and solved it with following instructions. Enjoy. ""Set Core Affinity"" - Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and open Task Manager. - Go to the "Details" tab, right-click bo2.exe, and select "Set Affinity". - Uncheck all processors and select only CPU 0 or CPU 1.
