a short summary of second light is that it blows the first game out of the water in nearly aspect, save perhaps the characters and writing where i would argue it matches the first game's. this is partly because, at large, blue reflection doesnt really register as a game most of the time. the biggest change here is obviously the combat. for some weird reason, the best ATB i've played in years is attached to this yuri game, which both makes sense and makes no sense. i know people have said the game does get repetitive but... that's kind of just every rpg in a nutshell. not really much you can do about it. what this game does, however, is have a fun, simple but still great to use ATB system that can transition into brief one-on-one battles mid fight. it rocks. it kicks so much ass. if you are at the weird intersection of craving a story with cute yuri tones while having some pretty cool combat back it up then boy is second light the game for you. i could go on and nitpick about the things the game does but i don't feel like it, i simply feel like recommending it. especially if the first game let you down in terms of gameplay.

after 2 years of playing this game and getting all of the achievements, i can confidently say that lesbians are not so bad after all the game is honestly not too bad - the first few chapters are pretty slow, but it does eventually pick up past the halfway point. the actual difficulty of battles aren't really that hard either (except for the ryza dlc), so this game can easily be finished if you can get past the initial chapters. the stealth missions suck major ass though, whoever decided to implement them into this game should have their balls separated by bolt cutters.

Compared to the first game, I think the original had a stronger story and an equally amazing soundtrack — I really love the ost in both titles. This sequel, though, is a definite improvement in many areas. The gameplay feels more refined and thoughtful, and the Heartscapes (maps) are absolutely beautiful; there were times I had to just stop and admire the design choices. Like the first game, the cast is entirely made up of female characters, and they’re all well-written and likable — but Hinako is still, without a doubt, best girl. Both games are fairly easy overall; even on Deathwish (the hardest difficulty), I was beating bosses quickly by the final quarter of the game. One criticism I have is that you can't get all achievements and reach the true ending in a single playthrough — you’ll need at least two runs to see everything. Overall, it’s a really good game: great characters (especially Hinako), a fantastic soundtrack, and a decent story.

Just finished this. I'm gonna be honest, the start is a bit slow, but it gets way better towards the middle/end. If you like magical girl stuff, you'll like this too for sure
