The game is good for what it is, but also very grindy and basic. It's the type of game that is good to play while listening to something else in the background. The story is very meta and tropey, and leverages the whole gaming theme pretty well, so it can be an enjoyable read if you dont take it too seriously.
This is probably my favorite Neptunia game purely for the nostalgia. It gives you so many people to work with, and there is a lot of post game content to grind through. The multiple endings are sometimes a pain to grind out, but worth it. Great characters and story, and a good gameplay loop. Really makes you grind sometimes, but otherwise is a good experience. Would recommend as the first game to play for the series, since it's a main title and shows off what the gameplay will be like for later entries.

A better JRPG than I feel some people are willing to give it credit for. The combat system is good, the artstyle is really cute, decent soundtrack, and not too long or too short. The main draw is, of course, the banter of the characters, which mostly just comes down to meta-jokes, cute anime girls doing cute things, or just trolling other characters. The main drawbacks are unfortunately recycled assets and the occasional random level spike, but if you can put up with that, I think you'll enjoy it. It's a decent entry point into the series and a good choice if you only want to play one Neptunia game.
