BrokenLore: LOW, more like BrokenGem In all seriousness, I do genuinely think this game is a rough gem. It does a lot very well and other things not so well. I saw some reviews saying this game is a walking simulator. That is wrong and quite honestly unfair in my opinion. You walk a lot, sure, but you walk a lot in many games. You have objectives in this game, enemy encounters, fail states and so on. A walking simulator will typically not have any fail states whatsoever. However, I can see why some may view it that way. I believe some people think the game is a walking simulator because it ends as quickly as it begins. I don't mind games being short. In fact, I find myself liking shorter games more and more nowadays. Games can often become tedious if they are too long. On the other hand, a game being too short won't give it enough time to properly bloom. I understand what the story is about afterwards, but I felt confused a few times during the actual gameplay because it moves on so quickly. The level design is quite beautiful and the sound design is phenomenal, with only a few minor flickering textures in a few areas. The game did stutter a bit at one part near the end, but other than that it ran smoothly for me. The switch between a more realistic setting and PS1 graphics was also an interesting choice. Conclusion The game needed another hour to properly build the story. The price for the amount of gameplay you get is borderline too high, but I think it was worth my time. I enjoyed it. It wasn't fantastic, but I appreciate the effort the developers put into this. Worth a try, I would say.

A really atmospheric psychological horror set in a mist covered Japanese village. The Gashadokuro as the main threat is a great choice and the looping labyrinth structure is awesome. The lore is interesting and connects to the other BrokenLore games. Worth checking out if you liked the series.

I liked it. Some thoughts: - More of an interactive movie than a game. The two "puzzles" are braindead easy. - The story and voice acting are fine. Nothing groundbreaking there. - I wouldn't say the graphics are all that realistic. Great lighting though. - Fantastic sound design. Best part of the whole thing. I think it was worth the $7. No worse than a movie rental.

I felt little underwhelmed with this one, I figured out the story right at the beginning of the game, The graphics were nice but the whole thing moved too fast and felt cheesy. The chase wasn't that impressive and the puzzle had zero depth. If you haven't played, I'd still suggest to give it a shot but I'd wait for a sale with this one.
