Passion of my youth, this game literally knocked me out of the educational process for a year and forced me (hehe) to skip school. Tens of thousands of pedestrians and cows scattered into butcher shops, thousands of opponents scattered their spare parts on the side of the road. There was no Steam back then, and I can't tell you how many hours, days, or weeks I played, but the gameplay and compositions of Fear Factory stayed with me for the rest of my life.

its great as much as i lean into masochism, i cant handle it. the physics and controls and some map in this game are atrocious. and i am also increasingly convinced that Carmageddon (1997) was a covert CIA project designed to raise the suicide rate among gamers diving in, i played for a few hours before noticing that the map design ranges from careless to openly hostile. press the Tab Key and all the fair play illusion collapses- other racers teleport around the map every moment you're not actively observing them. but no worries about that, because the AI has no strategy, no survival instinct, no higher reasoning, no discernible goal other than inconvenience and annoyance. all CPU players appear to exist solely to ambush you: ramming you, launching your car into the air while you are desperately wrestling with tyres that handle like soap just trying to navigate. later on, the game escalates in the most charitable way possible: 15-lap races, 30-second countdownstarts, water sections, swarms of cops. but you unlock upgrades and new vehicles too, some absurdly overpowered, others hammered ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ after hours of gang-beating, police brutality, and maps i can only be described as cuckolding, i reached the summit. and i like it.

The cars turn like crazy, the graphics are just pixels and the soundtrack is basically demanufacture but instrumental. Greatest game I've ever played
