It's not bad! It seems to be well balanced in the sense that you're not gonna be able to kill everything while afk, you're gonna have to shoot some yourself. If you know how to build proper mazes you'll be able to create some good choke points. What's interesting is there's a stark difference between traps and towers in this game. For example TD games that don't let you build a maze have towers on the outside of the map shooting inwards, CoA has that too but it also has traps that can be placed on the inside too. Though saying that there are limited locations for towers and they're expensive so it changes how you go about creating the mazes. I've only completed the first area so far and it's been fun.
An indie game that has officially left early access. Sadly that alone already deserves praise these days. The gameplay loop is insanely good. At first the game even feels too hard, but once you start understanding the nuances of character progression and weapon choices, it suddenly clicks. From that point on, you turn into an absolute nightmare for your enemies. There are a few technical shortcomings which is understandable since this is only a two man project, ranging from choppy animations to two crashes. Under normal circumstances this would have meant a score deduction BUT the gameplay is so damn good that I am willing to look past it. I really hope for a sequel or at least a DLC, maybe with improved visuals. Steam Deck info: While the game is listed as playable on the store page, the Steam Deck really starts to struggle towards the end and noticeable stuttering occurs. Because of that, I can only recommend playing it on PC. 10/10 – Masterpiece Unforgettable and outstanding. A masterpiece. I want others to experience this too. Immediately.
