I originally played (and completed) this game on the switch, and ended up enjoying it so much I decided to repurchase it on steam. The controls feel just as responsive as the switch version's! If you like warrior cats, or grew up playing games where you'd roleplay as an animal, there's a good chance you'll like what this game has to offer, as this feels very much like that, but in a single player video game format. The customizability of your main cat-racter is good, despite it's limits, (colour palettes being premade, some being unlockables, or behind codes, which can easily be found online), and the controls are responsive, and easy to pick up. The intro cutscene/tutorial is skippable for those who don't want to view it on a new runthrough, though it is fairly quick, and doesn't feel like it drags on. The quest system is very simple, (one quest per day, one day to complete quest, usually fairly simple "bring item to this character", "defeat x amount of raiding parties", etc) but I feel as though it works to the benefit of the game, as it allows you time to still explore the map, mine, hunt, etc, in that same day. There is a main quest/plot, though I'm not going to spoil it here. I personally had a lot of fun with this game, and wholeheartedly recommend it if you like rpgs that are on the simpler side of things, or- well. If you like warrior cats. If you like warrior cats you'll probably really enjoy the setting of this game.
Cattails is quite a simple little game. Like many titles that feature daily in-game events and things to do that are restricted to certain times of the year, it often feels like you have too much to do and you're always rushed. But that's essentially my only complaint. I had fun with it, and if you were ever into Warrior cats, you'll probably get a fair amount of mileage here.
THIS GAME IS SO GOOOOOOOOOD :D It reminds me a lot of Wolf Quest combined with Stardew Valley. Honestly 10 minutes into playing this game I bought the second one because I loved the game so much ;sob; The controls are easy to figure out and the storyline is pretty straight to the point and entertaining. I didn't notice any glitches or issues until after I had kittens in the game. When you let the kittens follow you around sometimes the game will just break and make all the huntable animals freeze lol. I also noticed that you can spam sleep and I didn't really think of it as a glitch but it was to spam sleep then a full month goes by. THIS GAME IS AWESOME AND YOU SHOULD PLAY IT IF YOU FW THE WARRIOR CAT BOOKS 10/10. <3
A simple, fun, and relaxing game. As someone who read Warriors as a kid, this was everything I hoped for and more. There's plenty to do but some of it is either grindy or tough, so be aware. There's lots to explore and multiple routes to take, but I will admit it starts to feel a little mundane at some point. Either way, I enjoyed playing it, and I think it's worth the price.
