A wonderful & old, but very chill game, sadly abandoned and in desperate need of a remake or a remaster. By 2025 standards, the graphics are obviously not great, and pathfinding is buggy. Gameplay is neat, but the technical experience is not fun (graphical glitches, performance issues, etc). You're sort of rolling the dice if you're buying it, but if it works for you, and you're into city builders, you're probably going to enjoy it. If the devs make a modern reboot, my guess is I'd probably be a hit.

A very well-made city simulation game. Like all other city simulation game, It has a lot of resources and game mechanic that one need to learn, which can be a bit challenging considering how the game immediately pushes all to you. Thankfully, the tutorial helps and the guidebook provided within the game also proves to be very helpful. Additionally, the Egyptian aesthetic is extremely beautiful and rich in culture, providing one a very good start in learning the Ancient Egyptian civilization, culture, and how they life. If you love city-building games, you should try out this game. If you love Ancient Egyptian culture, this is definitely worth checking out too.

Children of the Nile: Enhanced Edition is your standard city builder with plenty of scenarios to test the player's ability to adapt to given environments along with events that range from predictable to unpredictable. With how much information is available to players within the tutorial stages and information boxes for every clickable NPC, structure, and cartographic symbol on the world map, the game is readily learnable for those versed and those unversed in its genre. Technically speaking, there are noticeable errors in how graphics clip through each other and how unreasonably seamful it is to place structures diagonally, the product will overall operate function as intended with only a few of its aspects demonstrating its datedness.
