A fan game which doesn't rely purely on your love for the source material and is able to stand on its own two feet! You can tell the devs placed so much love into it, from the music, to the dialogue, it's unreal Unironically, I would reccomend this game to those who don't know anything about Hololive, besides clips and the like, it's just that good!
This is genuinely one of the best platformers I’ve ever played. What impressed me most is how confidently the game keeps evolving. Instead of repeating the same ideas with slightly harder obstacles, it constantly builds on what you’ve learned and then twists it into something new. One inventive stage leads into the next, and the pacing stays exciting without feeling exhausting. The presentation matches that quality. The visuals are charming and expressive, the soundtrack elevates the mood in exactly the right moments, and the story has real heart. You can tell there was a lot of care put into every part of it—not only a love for platformers as a genre, but also a clear respect for the characters and the world. And even if you don’t know anything about Hololive, the story still works on its own. You don’t need prior knowledge to enjoy it; it’s simply a well-told, emotionally engaging adventure. What surprised me is how much it affected me. That “warm, excited feeling in my stomach”—that rare mix of wonder and motivation to keep playing—was something I hadn’t felt in a long time. The last time a game hit me like that was when I played Gravity Rush Remastered and Gravity Rush 2. Chrono Gear: Warden of Time is absolutely worth your time. Even if you normally don’t like platformers, I’d still recommend giving it a real chance—because this isn’t just a good platformer, it’s a great game overall. If you’re looking for something special to play in 2026, I honestly think this is one of the best choices you can make.
