Update: I have a sneaking feeling that they ready my review and then updated the game to fix my few complaints. The latest update has dramatically improved the game with more buildings, shops, mercenary camps, etc. You can hire max level mercenaries from merc camps, and now there is a mount that makes leveling a certain character easier. I am very impressed and pleased with the most recent changes and I am very excited to see what else they come up with. Overall, I think its an improvement over Circle Empires Rivals. The new art style is more distinct in my opinion. Although both Rivals and CE II are great. I love that you can create your own units and mix and match. The customization of units is definitely the best part of this game and it is a great addition. The heroes/factions also offer even more unique playstyles than a lot of the Rivals heroes. And the AI seems more intelligent. However, my only real complaints are: 1: that building up an economy feels slower in CE II than CE Rivals. 2: There are less buildings you can place in your circle with less interesting effects. 3: Leveling up units is much much slower than CE Rivals and so I often never have level 2 or 3 units in my army at all, even if I am very careful to not lose any units. Still recommend it, but I am looking forward to seeing any updates that may happen in the future.
Honestly the game is cool i played the og one and rivals but to be honest it lacks units. it feels like it needs atleast 2 to 3 times the units it has. i can see why people are hating on it and honestly i respect the hate its just that while i apreciate and think its cool and fun and looks so much better it just feels so bad that it feels like there really is only a handful of units im not going to refund it because i have faith but mann was i close to give a thumbs down Edit 1. after playing a bit more this game is in dire need of more leaders and have an option to make you own leader and army composition like being able to choose what units and upgrades
First of all, good job devs! I've been playing circle empires since the first game and i can say that the new mechanics and ideas in this one really stand out and are fun to play around with. it keeps the most fun parts of the first game and rivals and adds on to them with the character creation and some quality of life mechanics. no real complaints and I'm looking forward to future updates! Secondly, I saw someone else talk about how they think CE2 is lacking in content compared to Rivals and i can definitely see where they are coming from, but i believe that with some time to update and grow like Rivals has had this game will go even further with its new mechanics and gameplay than Rivals has.
I really enjoyed the first game. This one is a great price for so much game in there. Designing you own units, getting more choices how you build your bases, multiple game modes, multiplayer built in, you can choose what person can ride big units like dragons. very fun, and has some stuff to unlock which gives you a way to explore all the new units.
