A very well designed digital adaptation, and a very fun board game. Having the AI do all of the preparation steps makes life so much easier. If you are someone who likes playing board games solo then by all means go for it. I've had a lot of fun in my time with it and I would easily give this a full recommendation were it not for one lacking feature that other digital board games have in the 2025 digital board game landscape. As of this writing: There is no Steam Remote Play integration. If you want to play with your friends they have to either: -Physically be in the room with you -Set up a remote desktop multiplayer session for "Pass and Play" through a program like Parsecs -Each player has to purchase a copy And $32.50 (CAD) is too high of a barrier of entry to easily get a group of people on board to purchase and play together, because realistically how long are you going to play Clank with the same small group of people, and why would you want to be restricted to only playing with those same people. There being only 2 maps that come with the base game also doesn't help. The real reason I bought it (and it didn't become another game I wanted to buy but never did) was because I have a steam deck and can set up pass and play sessions at people's houses with the dock. In summary: Buy if you like solo play Can buy if you have a steamdeck and want to play IRL with people Pass if you're looking for a multiplayer game to play online with your friends

If you like board games but have no friends like me, this is perfect. Plays like the original board game and when playing the AI acts like a bunch of jerks, like the friends we don't have and will take the good cards out of spite. The animations are fine and I am looking forward to Direwolf hopefully putting out more boards/expansion sets. God I'm lonely

Highly recommended. Faithful reproduction of the board game with the addition of challenges. The challenges make slight or not so slight modifications to the rules that make the game fresh and interesting. This is one of the best conversion of a board game I have played to date (21 board game conversions in my library so far)

it's clank, clank rules, but you probably want to have some friends or really be in love with the game to buy it as it stands right now. personally i am happy enough just playing through the included challenges (single player missions featuring slightly modified rulesets) and the online leaderboard challenges that they post every ~4 days. but I could see getting bored of it before too long, as most of these challenges aren't all that difficult as it stands. depending on your friend group it should be good enough to have a fair few games without getting bored though, even in its current state. i understand the board game has a lot of addons, that certainly sounds like it would be appreciated to have in the game eventually. there's certainly a huge amount of things that can be added to this, and i'm sure they are all already being considered, but a team can only work so fast. i'm definitely looking forward to whatever they add in the future, in any case.
