My parents lived paycheck to paycheck. On rare and special ocassion we would rent either a Super Nintendo or a Nintendo 64 from the local video store. Needless to say, what games we chose to go along with the rental were sacred. On one of those occasions, I saw a helicopter on the box and couldn't resist. A game called jungle Strike. Today, Im almost 40. Finding time to play video games can be difficult let alone feeling any sort of nostalgia from playing them. This game. Wow. I was 12 years old again, the same energy I felt long ago. The soundtrack, the sound, the gameplay brought me back to my childhood living room, sitting with my brothers, fighting over the controller. Im excited to keep playing. Thank you.

This is how games were back in 90's. Pure fun, cheesy lines, damn good music. Great game. More missons please! Buy it.

30 years ago, I was a kid following my parents on an evening stroll around the town in China. We walked past a computer shop and I was attracted by the sound of video game inside. I stopped and watched them playing a game, where a helicopter was flying over enemy bases in the desert, shooting and firing missiles, and picking up barrels of fuel. I was instantly hooked, but my PC at the time was too old to run any games like that. So it remained a childhood dream of mine... until NOW! Clear Hot lets me relive this childhood dream! Inspired by the classic Desert Strike (the game I saw as a kid), everything felt just like what I remembered, with modern controls and 3D graphics. The music was lit and combat was intense, and it even expanded the original concept with your own base. Being a fellow indie developer, I can feel the love and excitement of the devs! There are some opportunities for improvement, especially with combat: - Aiming the crosshair onto enemy targets feels difficult due to the camera movements. - The minigun "heat level" is shown on the player helo but my eyes are not there during combat. It should be near the crosshair - There are lots of objects that you can pick up but most are color-coded red, making me wonder if they are supposed to be destructible. Probably need more color coding - The process of picking up objects feels OK enough, but I still struggles at times Camera work is going to be the most challenging part to develop, I went through the same troubles working on Tunguska: The Visitation. It's a constant battle between motion sickness and not able to see far enough and getting shot by enemies outside the screen - a signature problem for top-down view shooters. I had to implement a lot of nuanced camera movements to reduce discomfort.

Um, YES 10 minutes was all I needed to know this game is exactly like the Urban/Desert/Jungle/Nuclear/Soviet Strike games of the past and that's exactly what I wanted!
