I don't remember when or how I got this game, but as I scroll down my bottomless last-played list into previous years, Cloud Gardens is one of the very few I will see and want to play every time. This game is almost a perfect zen game, between the wonderful sound design, bite-sized levels, and charming theme. Your mind can wander aimlessly and explore this peaceful little world. While at first I found myself annoyed as I trying to play this meta-game to growing everything as much as possible, the years have taught me that this perspective is antithetical to zen games like this. The unreliable method of dropping things down, objects falling over and crushing plants, being unable to get things neatly lined up, I was trying to add too much order into a game about the opposite. The game is about the erosion of order, how things we view as important now won't be in the future, that we don't need perfection in everything we build. Now Cloud Gardens isn't going to enlighten you or change your life, it's a simple video game about growing plants for a few hours, then you'll probably want something else. It's mostly just art, and as with most art, you get out what you put in. That said, the game strikes a great balance of actual progression with minimized gameplay, yet avoiding the trapping of falling into the category of actually feeling pointless. Maybe wait for a sale if you're on a budget, but I highly recommend it for zen gaming.

LOVED!!!!! As someone with an anxiety disorder, I always turned to this game to relax, and help my nerves. It took me a several sessions, however I completed the play through, and it was a wonderful and chill experience. I highly recommend. The music, clicking tones, asmr type audio really made the game like no other that I have played. I will play through this one again for sure. I wish it kept going.... forever..... Thank you for this game, thank you!

I cannot overstate how much I enjoy Cloud Gardens - this is one of the most soothing, pleasant, enriching experiences I have ever had with a video game. I replay it both for fun and also on rough days when I need some zen. The ambient soundtrack and the sound effects are soothing and chill, as are the muted color palettes and structure designs. Each level is a puzzle where you are tasked with covering a required percentage of the environment with plants, by tossing seeds at different abandoned structures and then using various detritus dropped nearby to encourage more growth. Different plants cover in different ways, and figuring out which plant is the best for your current level makes for an entertaining challenge that's never frustrating. Relax your way through a gently abandoned dreamscape today!

My oh my, what a lovely game. I bought this game back during the winter sale and have enjoyed every second of playing this game; I wish I'd of played it sooner. It is the quintessential cozy game. I would love to see additional content for this game, otherwise I'll definitely be keeping these developers on my radar.

Serene and satisfying puzzle game where you sow seeds and place junk in small scenes. The junk makes seeds within a sphere of influence grow, but if they intersect a part of a plant that part will be destroyed. You need plants to grow to generate more seeds to plant more plants, ideally close enough together that the limited amount of junk you place make multiple plants grow. It's very satisfying to try to figure out how to organize plants and junk in a scene to optimize growth, but I found it was also lenient enough with how successful you have to be to finish a scene that you can afford deciding to do stuff that will look good over maximizing utility often enough that it feels you have agency over how the end result actually looks. And that's it. Satisfying puzzle, pretty graphics, serene music. With 113 scenes to build (I have so many left to get through oh lord) there's so much content in this thing. Strongly recommend!
