Really frustrated people say the dev abandons their projects. It's simply untrue. The game is finished. It's a small game for literally the price of a big CHAI LATTER! The trailer TELLS you this is a SMALL, MINIMALISTIC game. It's not the games, nor the dev's fault when people can't comprehend that tiny games exist. They have always existed. If you don't understand the world of itchio sized games stay away from it and stop giving bad reviews. I love "Summerhouse" and "Slots & Daggers". I love the dev's color choice, artstyle and balance of minimal/details. I like that the dev understood the concept of a snack. A snack for them, as in creating and finishing a game, and us in getting for small money a short but sweet gaming experience. It can be done after work, school, parenting, or simply for people like me who are disabled and are exhausted and in pain. Sometimes you need a small game. One that you can finish and feel good about yourself. I rather have that, than a fancy big chai latte.

No rules, no timers, no "wrong" ways to build. You simply pick from a variety of beautifully crafted blocks like windows, doors, plants, or little street details to create small cozy houses or natural sceneries in different landscapes from seaside to mountains to suburbs . SUMMERHOUSE is all about the vibe. The way a bicycle leans against a wall, a cat peacefully sleeps on a windowsill, or washed laundry flutters above a mediterranean house roof. It's a wholesome experience that entertained me with nothing less than the beauty of being creative. ​ SUMMERHOUSE is a little masterpiece in minimalistic cozy builders. I had fun adding lore to my own worlds. I an old man living alone in the mountains and my daughter is living far away in the city and she had neighbours that she BBQs with, and a rundown house at the end of the street. It's definitely a minimalist game, but if you want to spend some time making cute houses, villages, stores, etc. this is a game for you!

I really enjoy this game when my thoughts are all over the place. Which sounds lame, but iykyk. Throw on some lofi or classical and just chill. Especially with the rain setting. I do think an update would be cool. Some new blocks or color variations of the ones already there. The ability to tilt or rotate pieces. Hide the HUD. Rain at night would be dope af. Overall, it's a good one. Not everyone's cup of tea but that's the joy of gaming. Not everything is going to be for everyone.

A very adorable and chill building sim. Good for a few relaxing hours, but not enough variety in its build pieces for much beyond that. The controls are smooth and both the pixel and non pixel aesthetics are lovely to look at. I enjoyed unlocked the characters and I think they add a needed bit of life to any build. The different environments are also great but I wish there were more unique pieces to fit each one. While there's room for creativity, especially with how freely you can clip everything, ultimately the lack of diversity is its biggest flaw. I'd recommend getting it on sale!
