Hard to overstate how much I love this game. To be clear, I've been playing exclusively single player PvE, I haven't even TRIED the online experience, either PvE or PvP, MMO or Co-op, although I'm sure I will eventually. I've also just played Exiled Lands, not Isle of Siptah, although, again, it's on the list. This game is enormously immersive, and immersively enormous. A great game for explorers and crafters, you can spend dozens of hours without even fully traversing the map, exploring new ruins and new environments. It's an excellent "dollhouse" game, if you enjoy making large builds and decorating them, and the Thrall system allows you to create living settlements that feel like real keeps and towns. There are also a staggering number of really cool mods on Steam Workshop that are very easy to use; between those and the extensive admin powers, you can really create exactly the experience you want in single player. I'm 150 hours in, and I've not even beaten the base game yet, let alone DLCs and expansions and online play. It's some of the best gaming money I've ever spent. Give it a try, seriously.

Conan Exiles is like a toxic girlfriend. It abuses you, puts you down, and humiliates you in front of your friends, until you finally can't take it anymore and leave. You tell yourself that there are a million other games in the sea. Ones that will respect you and accept you for who you are, but you still can't stop thinking about it. Then one night while looking through your library you decide to log on, just to say hi and see how things are going, Next thing you know you are right back in that toxic relationship. And you couldn't be happier, until you aren't.
I still come back to this game from time to time since its early access days. Back then it was full of bugs, but somehow my friend and I still had a great time playing it. The difference between the old version and the current one is huge. The game kept getting updates, new content, and improvements over the years. Cut trees, gather stone, survive the weather, build your base, upgrade your gear, capture thralls, clear dungeons, kill bosses, and just try to stay alive in this massive world. Conan really nails that survival sandbox feeling for me. The new UE5 update made the game look much better visually and honestly it’s the reason I started playing again after years. I also really like how they connected Exiled Lands and Siptah together. Being able to teleport between the maps feels like a smart change instead of splitting the content apart. My favorite part of the game is definitely the follower/thrall system. Hunting for strong thralls and traveling around the world with them makes the world feel more alive and gives me a reason to keep exploring. The mod support is also great. There are so many amazing mods, especially for solo play, and I use quite a few of them myself. The game still has some issues here and there, and the biggest problem right now is probably the servers. Busy servers can get extremely laggy and they still haven’t fully solved that problem. But even with its flaws, Conan is still one of my favorite open world survival games.
The game was already great even before the UE5 update, but I was not expecting this update to be so good! Game takes less disc space, runs and looks better, interface is improved. Finally you can craft and build using nearby chests. Just better all around and to get it for free is so unexpected these days.
