(Please remember that I am reviewing a game that is still in "Early Access", so my review may change based on how updated the game gets. This game could change without warning, so anything said here is only based on the current build of this game.) When I saw this game, I was thinking that there was another game that plays just like this. Then, I realized that this game does play like another game that came out a few years ago, only they never finished the game. The game was called "She Will Punish Them". The game can be found here... https://store.steampowered.com/app/1213740/She_Will_Punish_Them/ Keep in mind that this game has been abandoned so if you buy the game, know that the game is still not completed. But then I heard that they planned to remake that game into another game using the same game engine as "She Will Punish Them", only this time it was called "Beauty And Violence Valkyries", but the game is not out yet, at least not that I am aware of, however it's on Steam and says it's being developed here... https://store.steampowered.com/app/1146670/Beauty_And_Violence_Valkyries/ Now, to be fair, this game may be developed by different people, but it just seems odd that this game plays a lot like the above mentioned games. So, if you have not played or you don't own the above games mentioned, I'll just tell you a little about it. To read more about this, there was a post in the forums about these games here... https://steamcommunity.com/app/2426120/discussions/0/673976371230478538/ You start out taking control of a girl, that you will customize at the beginning of the game, and she will be your fighter. She has quite a few abilities as well as has various weapon skills she can use for combat. When you start, it will give you a tutorial on how to play the game and how combat works, plus learn about shops and what they sell for you. Once you are ready, you can then go to various locations on the map and battle enemies to gain experience and skills along the way. Once you finished that section of the map, you gain gold, experience, and gems. When you return from your battle, you can then use the gold and gems to buy better weapons, armor, and outfits. The gems are used to buy furniture for your room. Overall it's a neat 3D/RPG/Action/Adventure game. It does have some glitches here and there, but they are tolerable. I have not had a problem with anything directly so far, so the game is stable, at least for me. Personally, I would wait before buying until it's past it's "Early Access" or more content has been added.

Alrighty! So, anybody that saw the title image, read the game name might be a touch confused yet interested in what this game is actually about. On the plus side, this is very much a harem style game. The twist is that you, the heroine protagonist are not only part of this harem, but using it as a cover to fight slavers, monsters and would be assassins bent towards the demise of your sultan. In short, you are playing the role of Charlie's Angels with an Aladdin style setting (but there are up to four of you at a given time). The game format is a third person hack and slash with various fighting styles, looting and leveling. The game takes heavy inspiration from several popular games, including a certain one involving barely clad succubus types. Foes tend to be randomized in terms of location, and there are several levels to explore as your grow in talent and abusing the baddies. Some levels are pre set (currently) at certain milestones for exploration, other smaller areas have been set for experience and looting grinding on a more randomized backdrop. Much like one would think, you as the player get to design and dress your leading ladies with a significant amount of detail, and though some features are currently missing (looking at you, full body freckles) the devs are diligently working on adding new options bit by bit. This is not a AAA studio, and you can tell from the production value, but this is also one of the games strengths. I.e. there is no limit to how much it can grow with enough time and passion, and it's not merely a cash grab, which is refreshing. Is there nudity? Yep, but there's a toggle to confirm and enjoy that sort of content. Do the outfits bare all? Not... especially. They are revealing and often times lurid, but as of right now no gear actually shows off anything beyond a pg 13 outfit might (for now). Is there sex? Nope. Not even heavy petting between the ladies, currently. Could this change? Maybe. Far more likely that will have to be a 'feature' added with mod support in the future. So for now the loop is fight, loot, level, and show your passion for harem dancer fashion. Armor and appearance can be adjusted individually, meaning if there is a legging set that makes you nod in approval, you don't have to give up the eye candy when a stronger alternative manifests. As for the gameplay, well I won't lie. As of 2 Jan in the new year of 2026, it's a bit rough around the edges. Several weapons feel a bit floaty or similar, there is no variation in sound effects for the attacks hitting home based off weapon type (big difference between swords and high impact hammers, for example). Special skills or animations feel underpowered compared to just clicking as fast as you can with a weapon in either hand. Your companions aren't especially tanky, (or clever) and seem to enjoy falling on the opponents swords from time to time. However, comma, this has been noted and the devs are working on a big sexy update in the near future (I'm told roughly around a month or so) that will address several of these quirks, as well as adding a glorious skill tree full of talents and tweaks to make a character truly feel unique and fun on the battlefield. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But it *is* an early access game, and the folks behind it are doing their darndest to make it shine. On their discord they tend to be quite active, chatting with users regarding bug fixes and content requests. In addition, so far there have been a few seasonal and special outfits (cosmetic only, no OP stuff here) tossed out there for players to enjoy, which is pretty cute. And we have been assured that they will return, so you don't have to be concerned with missing out for long. So, would I recommend this game to others? Yep. Again, it's still rough around the edges and there are some looming growing pains on the horizon for sure. But the story doesn't end there. With every patch it grows a bit more polished. It doesn't feel like the devs are punching above their weight, nor are they trying to make a direct clone of other games, content to take inspiration from others while marching (or wiggling) to their own beat. A humble cost for the game certainly doesn't hurt either. Should be fun to see how this, much like the scantily dressed assassin nymphs, shape up in the days and months to come.

Hard to believe this is an indie game, the character creator, level design, ambiance and lightning are fantastic. Expected a waifu simulator with photo mode, but the game has some serious combat. Even hard at some points. Once you open the map and start free roaming, it starts to flow. Roadmap shows even more improvements are on the way. I want rescue missions, hope they add a lot of them. Edit: Replayed a new save after new updates, optimization is much better and combat at early levels is more forgiving for new players. Easy 8 out of 10 now.

EA Review for Concubine Pros - Great visual progression: Every 5 levels, new gear becomes available both as drops and from vendors, which gives a solid sense of progression. - Easy to get into: The game is accessible and not overly complex, making it easy to jump right in. - Character customization: There’s enough variety to make a unique-looking character, though a few more options would be appreciated down the line. Neutral - Combat: It works for now but feels a bit one-note. Melee combat in particular doesn’t feel great — you’ll be chugging potions just to survive, while ranged combat feels far smoother thanks to AoE arrows and distance advantage. I suspect this will improve significantly once skills and magic are added. - Gameplay loop: The core loop is simple — load into missions, clear enemies, loot everything, then sell or upgrade gear afterward. It’s basic but functional for an Early Access build. Cons - Bugs: As expected with an Early Access title, there are quite a few bugs — some of which can reset your progress unexpectedly. The devs are aware and have received feedback on these issues. EDIT: The devs have addressed the bugs causing unintended progress resets as of the most recent patch! - Weapon skills: Currently feel janky and underwhelming. There’s no description text for what each ability does, and the damage output is too low to justify using them over basic combos. -Sound design: Many actions and interactions lack proper sound effects, which takes away from immersion. Combat, movement, and environmental sounds all feel a bit too quiet or incomplete at this stage. Overall Concubine is light on content right now, but the core systems and gameplay loop are promising. It’s a solid foundation that could grow into something special with continued updates and polish. I’m looking forward to seeing how the devs build on what’s here.

I've been following this game and dev team for a while now. Played the tech demo, closed test, public test and Steam demo. Pretty familiar with the game so I am writing an early review to support the devs. Solid fan service game with old school action. Building a concubine team is a lot of fun. Expect to die. Bring a bow and a lot of potions. She Will Punish Them players will like it. I do. Early Access is probably a 8/10 but I'm betting the devs can reach a 9/10 with their roadmap.
