I have over 900 hours in this game, and I still feel like I'm only scratching the surface. The only other game that held my attention for this long was Monster Hunter: World. This game has many aspects that you can cling to, such as: -Being a loot goblin and picking up high-value items to keep in your base as trophies -Base organization, where you organize everything how you want it and pre-build kits that you will use -Gun building/modifications -High tension in an extraction shooter (Do you risk it to fight another player or team, or leave to secure the valuables?) -And of course, the shooting Below are a few strong points of this game: -Great gun interactions -Variety of ways to play, such as being tactically quiet or guns blazing if you are a wild man -VR—the aspect of looting, shooting, talking, and gesturing to people is a core element of what makes this more interesting than other extraction shooters -The content updates have been constant -Communication is something that has been improving -PvE mode with the recent update is great for people who don't want to fight other players, and it doesn't wipe The only con is that not enough of my friends have VR to play this. This game is very hardcore. However, if you put yourself onto the Exfil Discord or other friendly Exfil communities, then I think you will find a game that sparks joy like the first time playing games at a friend's house. Don't know why this game has mixed reviews besides possibly paid bots from Ghost of Tabor (the other rival VR extraction shooter) and as someone with over 1,000 hours in both? This game is the clear winner in every aspect. Only negative points I can give this game are the fact that it's more colorful than tabor and tarkov, but that's preference, and the fact that people find ways to dupe, but thats a problem on tabor, dayz, and almost every game so i cant really hate on these guys too much, people (people being ghost of tabor devs) wanna call this company the "temu tabor" but it just so happens to beat them on every front. I stopped playing tabor shortly after the exfil version for this game released thinking to myself "well i like tabor too, ill go back to that when they get their stuff together," that was a couple years ago and let me tell you right now. They NEVER got their stuff together, any new updates from GoT only were uninspired shameless rushed updates that tried copying this game, such as a whole new healing system, suturing kits, safe boxes (which if you die with it in your hand in tabor you can not get it back and it's gone for wipe, tough luck and that's unheard of in any extraction game), and GoT had an update in august for a fresh wipe and the first month of that wipe the AI just stood still so any GoT nerds farmed the hell out of bosses. GoT only focuses on releasing DLC mostly which i dont care about because i bought some $30 edition of the game that gives me all the DLC for free and i honestly could care less. Not only are their updates nothing but their DLC is trash, Contractors Exfilzone actually release updates to be very hype about, the most recent tabor update game 3 new things, a drum mag for the as-val/Vss (an op gun that was previously limited by its mag size but now they gave it a drum mag for no reason), a drum mag for the .22 luger (idk man), and an FAL with rails or some crap (an upgraded version of some crap they already had). Not to mention ghost of tabor just feels so clunky and badly optimized, after playing this "temu tabor" i was instantly hooked, Caveman studios go it going on man. I have such a hard time trying to get back into tabor again no matter the circumstance.
This game is purely amazing. I had around 150 hours clocked in Ghosts of Tabor and I can say without a doubt that this game is FAR better than GoT. Here are my reasons why it’s a good game (and why it’s better than Tabor.) 1. The Smoothness On standalone and PCVR this is the smoothest feeling game i’ve ever played. It runs like butter. Every interaction you have with everything feels so natural and satisfying. I will say, the performance is a bit of an issue, but that’s probably due to my specs. 2. There’s so much to do! You never run out of things to do. Your first few dozens of hours (and beyond) are spent doing quests, and when you get bored of that, do some profit raids! The progression is very satisfying and the variety of armour, ammo, and weapons make gameplay fresh all the time, especially coming from a game like Tabor that’s pretty limited in what is considered “good”. 3. The community. The Tabor community is full of kids. It’s bad. Like unbearably bad. But this game is full of adults. Sure, i’ll come across some old guy that sounds like he’s withering away on occasion, but most of the time you’ll come across pretty chill guys. This game is just a good time. Reminds me of the good ol’ days of hopping on Tabor and doing some raids with the boys. If you want to be tactical, this game is for you.
