Incredible hidden gem. It feels like the later Megaman Xs plus Mischief Makers plus Kirby. It feels like the kind of low-poly feverdream you only got towards the very end of the lifecycle of the N64. The game's presentation is a little rough and technical. Story mode is a series of small arenas where you have to kill all the enemies, interspersed with a little bit of dialog. But the ingredients in its design soup are all very good, very flavorful, and it hits a kind of "eh, good enough" scuffed feel that causes the dopamine receptors in my head to light the heck up. The basic platforming and projectiling is megaman, but like, you get your powers the second you kill an enemy. And while you can only hold a few power chips, you have a button that fires them all as a combined shot. The stages do feel kinda puzzle-y. You're expected to use the unique traits of the chips to attack through walls and power slide and hit switches and whatnot. But the combat feels good and there's genuine technical depth. The bosses are sweaty. You can sight-read them, and you can get creative with the fights. If you let enemies stick around for more then a few seconds they'll start saturating the screen with touhou attack patterns, but this encourages you to play fast and aggressive and honestly it works. I went into this thing with expectations medium and it surprised me with how fun it is. I'll update as I play further. I think this is probably not going to be a super long game (although there's two playable characters,) but it's surprised me once and it could certainly do that twice. Based on the fundamentals of play and how solid the gamefeel is, I feel comfortable giving a thumbs up at this juncture. If that changes, I'll revise. I think this is an excellent pickup on sale, and I hope people will support the devs in making more. Edit: Exchikkalibur is a better fight than Meta Knight. When this game is cooking, it has the entire gas range on high.

I do not say this lightly: Copy Kitty is one of the greatest games I've ever played. I can't remember the last time a game consistently made me so happy, while leaving no doubt in my mind that the devs made it with genuine enthusiasm and passion. They thought of everything, went the extra mile, and just kept going and going! Play as both characters on normal and hard, play all the endless modes, the boss rushes... All of it is worth it. I can't even tell you why exactly, because it's a spoiler. Yes, hard mode can be spoiled. Heck, the boss rushes can be spoiled. Maybe I've said too much already. I have zero complaints. I just want to see more of this world and these characters some day. I really love them. Nuclear Strawberry have my utmost respect and admiration.

Fun game, controls are hard, boss battles are god-tier, stages are ok and few later ones are fun. Music is allright and then there are banger playing in boss-fights.
