I've been playing this game for over 10 years and it was one of the very first games I had for the PlayStation 3 at this point I probably have well over a thousand hours into the game and I absolutely love it. I was really sad when I finally got my steam deck and started really getting into PC stuff finding out that ruse no longer existed. I'm so happy to see this game make it come back I've only had it for a few days and I've already got almost 30 hours. I don't know if this was a difference between the PlayStation 3 version and I guess what you would call the PC version here but playing without a unit cap is such a different experience I've wanted to be able to do this for so long I've only crashed the game once but that was my fault the game could not handle or perhaps my steam deck more than 200 aircraft with AA guns and things just all going at once. If the developers are still making tweaks to the game in some ways and all of my years there are things that I can suggest with this game. For one let me modify my formations it's hard because every time I move like a tactical group forward that I've created and I'm getting attacked by lots of aircraft every time I then have to go back and move the anti-aircraft guns so they're sitting side by side with a tanks if they sit in the back then all the fighter bombers just destroyed my tanks aa guns don't even have time to react Because unless I'm babysitting the formation by default during the rear. Also perhaps a stay still stance for the reconnaissance units I have problems sometimes where like my Greyhounds will back up right when the enemy's advancing cutting off all of my other units who had been firing from seeing because they're trying to get away that gets to be kind of a pain sometimes. Also sometimes it's hard and it makes me not want to build the more advanced units because I want the previous version I played mostly multiplayer battles with the AI there's a lot of instances like let's say when I'm playing and see Americans I would like to be able to build the M16 and the M18 and there's also times where I would like to get both the priest and the M40 it would be nice to be able to build the previous units as well as the upgraded ones that you've unlocked. Also if you could go into the game and add new units and perhaps some more maps I will give you more money take my money give me more stuff like for example anti-aircraft half tracks for everybody especially like the Germans just give me lots of more vehicles sometimes it's a genuine struggle when you're playing as let's say the United Kingdom and everybody else's tanks are just destroying you yeah you can throw in a whole bunch of fireflies but with the Churchill the best thing you have let's say if you're fighting against the French and it's late game because I would say a lot of my games go for an hour to two hours at least sometimes longer it is really hard to fight back when you're just getting slammed with fcm f1s I mean there's lots of weird wacky things you could put in you gave the Germans the maus give the British the tog give us some Sherman jumbos I forget the name of it for the Russians had those great big tanks the point is is that there's lots of different things and all categories you could probably add in and it might help to give the game some more playability and balance I mean those are just my opinions after years and years of playing this game but regardless this is going to be top five all time I remember playing this game everyday when I go home from school as a kid and I'll still keep playing and years later now but if you give me more stuff I give you more money let's make this happen. Also I've been playing this game on the steam deck and I've had absolutely zero problems it's been running great I don't know if it's because I'm using a 360 controller I do notice sometimes it's a little bit weird placing down units like sometimes the shadow doesn't exactly go where you think it's going to go I don't know if that's just because of what I'm using or I'm on but I've noticed that gets a little funny sometimes I've only had one crash and I played quite a few games so overall we're doing pretty good.

This is one of the best master pieces I have every played. It came out in 2010 and I brought it on console and brought on PC in 2013. I have nearly 3000 hours in this game (as I still played it nearly everyday when it was taken off the store in 2015.) I would recommend this game as it represents the true best of PC gaming. It is an old game yes but since the update on re-realise the graphics got a much needed update along with movement and a few unit buffs which was also needed. The Devs listen to community feed back and I know most of us Old players have given back in our own way with writing reviews and spending time on the game. We all are excited to have the game back in the store and hope that the new player base continues to grow as it makes us want to play the game more and more now. Keep in mind that this game is TRUE World War 2 style units and have been added as such and that is what makes the game so much fun! LETS ALL PARTY THAT RUSE IS BACK.

HOLY MOTHER OF TACTICAL TANKS — R.U.S.E. is the kind of strategy game that sneaks into your brain at 3 AM, steals your sleep schedule, and then politely whispers: “Bro… one more match.” And suddenly it’s sunrise, your spine has fused with the chair, and you’re screaming at invisible tanks like a caffeinated war goblin. First of all — this game is UNIQUE. Not fake-unique like every modern AAA game going: “We added crafting and a skill tree, please clap.” No no no. This thing is its own glorious tactical mutant creature. I’ve played over 50 RTS games in the last 5 years — yes, I touch grass occasionally, thank you — and R.U.S.E. bulldozed its way straight into my top 10 like a drunken French tank driver yelling “HON HON STRATEGY!” You know what this game DOESN’T do? It DOESN’T force you to click your mouse 9000 times per second like you’re trying to resuscitate a dying squirrel with caffeine. Unlike certain “professional sweat simulator” RTS games — looking at you StarCraft II — R.U.S.E. actually lets your BRAIN win fights instead of your wrist tendons. You can THINK. You can PLAN. You can bait enemies into traps like an evil tactical raccoon. The pacing is BEAUTIFUL. Not slow enough to become a retirement home simulator, not fast enough to induce cardiac arrest. You actually have time to react instead of panic-clicking like your keyboard owes money to the mafia. And the strategy depth? SWEET MERCIFUL EXPLODING LANDMINES. Different factions. Different units. Different ruses. Every battle feels like a giant psychological slap fight between military masterminds and sleep-deprived goblins. One minute you’re setting up a brilliant ambush. The next minute the enemy realizes your “massive tank army” was basically inflatable Walmart balloons with cannons painted on them. Absolute cinema. And let’s talk skirmish mode against the AI — AKA: “Oops, there goes your entire weekend.” THIS is where the game becomes digital crack for strategy fans. Unlimited replayability. Endless tactical experimentation. Higher difficulties actually fight back instead of behaving like confused potatoes wearing helmets. But the best part? This game welcomes newcomers without punching them in the kidneys. If you’ve never played strategy games before, R.U.S.E. is practically standing at the door like: “Come in, my child. Let us commit tactical warfare together.” It teaches problem-solving, planning, deception, prediction — all the big-brain stuff — while still being insanely satisfying when your master plan finally works and the enemy army gets vaporized harder than my emotional stability. Final verdict? ⭐ 1000/10 tactical brain explosions ⭐ R.U.S.E. isn’t just a strategy game. It’s chess on military-grade steroids wrapped in glorious deception and fueled by pure “JUST ONE MORE MATCH” energy. Now excuse me while I fake an entire army movement and psychologically destroy an AI general from 2010.

Bought this on Steam purely for nostalgia because I used to grind this game on my PlayStation back in the day. And somehow it’s still the same beautiful chaos I remembered: “Surely my tanks are safe.” enemy drops decoy units “Okay, I can recover.” entire frontline gets bombed into another timeline “Why are there paratroopers in my backyard?” This game made me feel like a military genius for 5 minutes before reminding me I have the strategic awareness of a confused pigeon. Also, younger me on PlayStation thought I was basically Napoleon Bonaparte. Steam version quickly humbled me. 10/10 — came for nostalgia, stayed because apparently I enjoy being psychologically manipulated by fake tanks on a map.
