Each different class plays quite distinctly. The chef lets you charge up a mega move if you slice, spice, and burn your foes. The seamstress drops needles while dodging that you can electrify and call down lightning. There is a more active element to using skills than typical survivor games, but you can also build passively and decide which skills individually auto-cast (the game needs auto aim). There is more room for skill expression than typical survivor games. The town building is interesting, but more like a fresh coat of paint for the same ole meta unlocks you work towards in these styles of games. Enemy progression is solid, but the bosses have major AOEs and are generally a weird vibe compared to how to build to clear the level (more so than typical survivors games). Overall, quite fun, worth supporting!

Don't be fooled by the name, this game isn't a clone of Vampire Survivors. The unusual abilities for each character adds a charm to the game that very few arena shooters have this level of, and the gameplay is a lot more active than many in its genre. The music especially is a highlight - don't turn it off on startup!

It is a good game. Nowhere near as fun as some of the best "survivors" style games, but objectively good. It has a charming visual style, functional combat and doesn't have many bugs for an early access game (they should seriously give the UI a few more passes though. It is by far the buggiest part). With that said, build variety is very thin. Because every character has their own upgrades, you can only really devise a couple for each. That sounds good enough, but when the game has dozens of stages that don't vary much between them, it becomes kinda boring. The problem is further exacerbated by the fact that the combat is designed with manual casting in mind. It is possible to play with automatic casting, but that reduces your character and build options even more. Weirdly enough, I can't even recommend trying it for a couple of hours to see if you like it, because the game is at its worst at the very beginning, when you don't have enough characters to choose from, don't have potions to spice up your builds, don't have the statue that attracts exp to you and don't gain enough experience to max your builds (I hope a well-thought-out demo comes out to help with this problem). All in all, I do recommend the game on a sale. It is made by a couple that clearly cherish the project, and it is objectively a good game. But unfortunately, it fails to reach the highs of other titles in the same genre. In particular, it fails to give the player the addicting feeling of "just one more run".

Great, unique characters. Solid take on the formula. EA, but not alpha quality, and good value for the money. Very little crafting, which is kind of unexpected. Interested to see where the devs go with it.
