Game is actually good so far, the good parts of Hearthstone with typical deckbuilder/roguelike-lite elements of "Play game, get rewarded with more cards + people to play." Genuinely just fun. I'll update this further once I play some more but so far so good and characters are honest to god attractive which also didn't require a consolutation fee from nuclear hazards. Related to the game topic/rant: I just came on here to put another good review because whoever the dumb ♥♥♥♥ that is the negative reviewer called slightlyundead is either ragebaiting or genuinely braindead. It's literally got a metaprogression of XP, you get MORE ♥♥♥♥ by playing the game. It's just a different currency than other games that might use "shards" or "coins", I'm not defending how tags are used but look no one knows how to apply these tags properly nowadays to begin with. Greatest example is people apply the "Durr, it's like slay the spire" and the only thing remotely similar is the deck building aspect. Just call it Spirelike atp, every dumb ♥♥♥♥ does it with dark souls and armored core. May as well redditify that tag and genre too lmao.

I have to login to write this comment, coz the game is too good with the price. I’ve spent a lot of time with roguelike deckbuilders: Slay the Spire 1 & 2, Balatro, Across the Obelisk, and plenty more,... but honestly, nothing really compares to this one. The artwork is solid and fits the vibe well; but the gameplay: It’s absolutely wild. The deckbuilding possibilities feel insane in the best way—every run lets you discover some ridiculous, over-the-top synergy that just shouldn’t work… but does. What I love most is that the game doesn’t seem obsessed with balancing everything to perfection. It actually leans the other way and lets you break it wide open. You can build the most overpowered, absurd combos you can imagine, and that makes it insanely addictive. Huge thanks to the dev team for creating something this fun and refreshing.

Where Slay the Spire and other clones spend a lot of energy to balance and cap how strong your deck may become, here they are just like "What's a 'balance'? Just have fun." And that works so well here. Its just fun to build overpowered decks and then gamble how far against similar overpowered enemies to go. This game should really be more popular, especially because there is also much work put into art and animation that goes beyond some run-of-the-mill card battlers on steam.

I really didn't get this game from the previews, but I got it on sale, based on the positive reviews, and holy hell I'm glad I did. The gameplay has card modifier mechanics I have not seen since Inscryption. The diversity of content is amazing, the art is consistently good. I have nothing bad to say about this game. I've done 100% of the achievements, and have played through all the characters, and each has a very unique synergy, and card set. There is a LOT of content in this game. Definitely one of the better and most diverse card games I've played. Strong recommend.

This is the coolest RLDB since STS and Monster Train. I know that sounds like an insane statement to make on a game with this little marketing and reach, but trust me, it just is. I will preface the rest of the review by giving some qualifiers as to who this might be for, and accordingly, who it might not be. Do you enjoy; - Breaking games They will let you do asome absolutely disgustingly silly stuff in this game. - Having full creative control over your deck, the WHOLE run The amount of different options there are during a run, that also reliably show up, and let you mess around with your deck in EVERY way possible is just great. They will let you sell your whole deck at the first vendor if you want to, and let you buy a new one. It's mindblowing, the amount of freedom and control this game gives you. - The feeling of abundance and being spoilt for choice at every step At no point did I feel bad because I couldn't affor the upgrade/card/thing I wanted, but at all points I had to make interesting choices between things because I also couldn't afford to buy just everything. The economy is superb, it's geared towards being able to do tons of stuff, while also being limited enough to not feel pointless. = Reading a new card and asking yourself out loud "There is no way right?" This will happen. A LOT. More than you think now, more than you have had happen in other games like this. I promise you, there will be many, many times where you read a new card and will be both confused and at the same time filled with excitement at the crazy and insane stuff that these folks have printed for you. If discovering cool new cards is your thing, this is just absolute crack. - A fresh mix of Classic mechanisms and stuff you've never seen before Self explanitory, but lots of fun, nostalgic mechanisms to go along and in many cases compliment a suite of fun new and innovative ones that are truly unique to this game. - Upgrading, tinkering with and flat out creating new cards yourself Collect 3 copies of a card to "Ascent" it, and use different vendors to infuse them with a whole host of customizable mechanisms. At the end of the run, you can take one of these custom cards and put it in the pool of cards guarrantueed to show up next run. Absolutely BRILLIANT stuff here. - PERMANENT SCALING, as in from run to run, these devs are CRAZY You think I'm kidding here, because that would just be insane right? I mean, what other card game let's you take buffs you made during a run and KEEP them for the next one? Thats crazy OP right? Well, here there is a mechanism called BOOST. And guess what guys? Boost lets you do just that. The BOOST cards get +1 to their power after each run and keep it forever. Something a lot of card gamers have been dreaming about for a long time, finally here, and it doesn't even break the game, it's just perma-progression goodness. - A rewarding and fun difficulty curve that is always exciting, never punishing (so far) From run 1 on, things are always exciting, and sometimes difficult, but never punishing or unfair. At least in my current playtime, I have found every single run to be more fun, more challenging and rewarding than the last. Difficulty certainly ramps up, but it feels fun and reasonable, and not unfair or cheap. - A rewarding and fun progression curve You get new cards, new things, new stuff, its GOOD, but it's also not even required, it's just icing on the already amazing cake. - STUNNING visuals, as in top tier CCG visuals, from Art to FX Why can this tiny studio do what no other card game (except Bazaar) can? THIS is what Card games should look like. VIBRANT, colorful, luxurious with it's prismatics, glowing effects, animations for different types of damage, for different card effects. It's super shiny, super polished, super satisfying and I can not get enough of it. I have personally been waiting for a card game with visuals like this for YEARS. The Bazaar does it best still, but this has to be on par when it comes to FX at least. - Fantastic artistic design and cohesiveness The art is top notch, and very cohesive. It has a definative style and wears it proud. It's unique, it's bold and it screams it's identity. I love it to bits, card art is fun but not childish, it's bright but not too much so, it's just perfect IMO. - Responsive controls that feel impactful Playing cards feels SOLID here, seeing the effects pop off when you create insane combo chains is ultimately just incredibly cool and satisfying. It has a better gameplay feel than most bigger card games, and to me, the only other card games that felt close to this when it comes to the satisfaction of playing cards are Eternal CCG and The Bazaar. PLEASE buy this, play it. You will love it. If you are coming from other games looking for something new and fun to play, do yourself a favor, this game is absolutely stunning. Thanks Devs! You made a game that matches my perfect game almost exactly, and I'm in complete disbelief that a game this cool actually exists.
