Has a lot of potential, but also require a lot more work. Needs far FAR more skills. As in; probably triple the amount of the current skills. movement/animations are a bit clunky and unresponsive. Still, it gets a thumbs up from me. It's already fun to play. Just needs MORE.

ARTWORK IS NOT AI. Disregard the reviewer that has failed to detect real art I can't speak for the voices cause they removed them (most likely those were AI; but who really cares) but as soon as I saw the artwork, I knew that it couldn't possibly be AI with the level of detail and unique design choices. And then the developers proved that it wasn't so there you go. The top reviewer has not only failed to realize what a fool they are but continues to defame a great indie game. The price of the game is very humble, and does not deserve to be defamed as AI slop. Truly sad that this is the world we live in now. I love this game so far. Hard as hell and plenty to build on. And there is definitely a lot to work on here so in case the devs see this, here are the main gripes: 1. Shields are useless, and should be replaced with lore-specific "OH SH!T" gadgets. The game heavily leans into dodging, and the shield is so clunky/slow to use. I literally never use it because I die immediately when I try to make a shield focused build. 2. The alien weapons are awesome but will 100% end your run because the curses are just so ridiculous. Literally picking up one of these will result in automatic death. Not fun. 3. Ranged weapons are too good and need to be tempered with ammo pickups and upgrades. You don't even need to build around ranged weapons, they will get attachments and upgrades the more you use them. As opposed to melee where you need to get specific level-ups and runes to make them effective. 4. Top-down view has a distinct advantage so the aim mechanic (only useful in 3rd person mode) needs to be buffed to reduce bloom and maybe increase crit damage. And that's it. Otherwise the game is awesome. I plan on changing my review when the devs update the game unlike the finook that calls this "AI slop" after playing for 13 minutes. Their review should be removed because it literally hurts the sales of this game. Absolutely shameful, especially after the devs went out of their way to address it and prove otherwise.

Game is amazing. 3rd person could use some work but 1 of a kind in roguelike games. Genuinely fun to do repeat missions. Whenever and if ever multiplayer will go into this game there is a load of avenues to go. For a rogue-like this is definitely my favorite game i've played in a long time. Producers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please put love into this game!!! these devs are tuff! im excited for expansions on this game for sure!

I had about a dozen hours on the demo. This game feels like what would happen if you toss vampire survivors into the warhammer 40k verse. i really like the vision here! it feels similar to the trench crusade, the gameplay is incredibly fun and i really like the fact that i can switch perspectives from isometric to 3rd person, keeps things fresh and adds more variety! The levels are hauntingly beautiful and filled with a lot of desolation. Some areas are a little unfinished due to its early access nature, same applies to some of the enemy types which are quite generic and could definitely use more work, but i have no doubts that this game will come out of early access as a success since this game already has the ingredients for something incredible, its just needs alot more polish, some more handmade artwork, and some content! i highly recommend this game to anyone's who's been starving for something quite unique in this genre, dark light is definitely that. But go in knowing that it's still a work in progress.
