Dead Letter Dept was one of those games I just found by chance. A random browsing session of steam lead me here and the premise seemed seemed pretty interesting and fresh. Picked it up pretty soon after playing the demo and damn, I'm surprised I haven't heard more about this game! Never would have thought I'd end up creeped out and unsettled playing a typing game but here we are with a game that did exactly that! The core game play is pretty simple in it essentially being 'type what you read', but it's done in such a way that keeps you invested with some pretty dark and interesting entries you need to make. They seriously nailed the atmosphere. It's so dark, creepy and can get genuinely unsettling at times if you allow yourself to get fully immersed in it. Definitely recommend playing with a headset because some of those little sounds gave me chills

What a deeply unsettling game -- I love it. The atmosphere of this game is downright oppressive at times, and the tension and stress for something as innocuous as correcting OCR on mail is extremely good. There's a lot of typing, so if you're not fond of typing a lot, potentially under stress, this might not be for you. Some of the content on postcards and the sort are exceptionally grim or edgy descriptions of events, so if that's something that might make you deeply uncomfortable, this might also not be for you. Otherwise, this is a wonderfully creepy experience, and if the idea of this game piques your interest at all, absolutely check it out.

Not only has this game managed to improve my typing speed but its also genuinely unnerving, I didn't think typing peoples addresses would give me so much anxiety but here we are. Love the visuals and the detail each piece of mail has. The story goes way deeper than i expected, even after 3 playthroughs there's still a lot to uncover.

I'm not necessarily shocked with the quality of DEAD LETTER DEPT., I just really wasn't expecting it to be so good. Sections of the writing here will be burned into my head for a while. The atmosphere is absolutely perfect and manages to gets its hooks in while also suffocating you. The scares are both subtle and effective. The amount of content and story to unpack and unravel is seemingly massive. This has the chance to be one of the best horror experiences (or really just experiences in general) of 2025. Don't miss it.

Absolutely stunning. You basically play as a data-entry employee, which means being a fast typist is extremely useful, but put through the lens of a horror game with meta elements. I don't want to give too much away but there's a ton of mindfuckery involved and so far I've only got one ending out of some number the game doesn't tell you, but I'll be going for all of them. It's not a super long experience but with all of the paths you can take, it's the perfect length for multiple playthroughs. It's not a jumpscare type game but I still found myself leaning away from the screen or nudging the volume down just through atmosphere alone.
