A quiet, melancholy walk through a gallery of wounds, where you piece together a story scattered like ash.

I feel ashamed for having only played this now, but at least I can finally make it my entire personality for the next weeks or so ૮ ྀིᴗ͈ . ᴗ͈ ྀིა As probably most players I got instantly mesmerized by the visual presentation; the graphics are incredibly charming with elegant aesthetics and varied, rich in detail map designs! (Additionally I was utmost shocked upon noticing that my barely functional PC is not only capable of running it at high graphics settings, but perfectly smoothly on top of that.) Also the soundtrack is very beautiful and helps establishing all kinds of atmospheres flawlessly. However what truly made me appreciate the game were the stories - the protagonists are all adorable and learning about their tragic lives has been the most engaging for me. I love how the game handles the storytelling by fusing plethora of metaphors and symbolism, explicit writing, wordless cutscenes, and more, in order to slowly piece together their fate. Especially paired with the stunning presentation and immersive melancholic yet oddly comforting ambience, the stories resonated with me particularly much! Though some chapters are way more clear about the plot while others are kept more vague, I still find it quite well-balanced in the end. I really doubt I'd enjoy this game as much without the stories, as they were a crucial part of motivation for me to continue the slow gameplay. At first I admittedly disliked the hazy presentation of the true ending and a few other plot parts (the epilogue's brevity made me angry), because they felt too obscure and superficial, yet after reading some discussions about it and getting some details pointed out which I initially missed, plus upon seeing different interpretations and shaping my own, I'm not upset about it anymore lol, as it truly does feel like a game which isn't supposed to be perfectly clear and onedimensional. Very lovely game, I'm obsessed!

OPHELIA LET'S TALK IT OUT, PUT THE SWORD AWAY The game was incredibly beautiful. Going through grief and themes of suicide, I found it really interesting how the story was told. Can;t lie I have more questions than answers after finishing it but maybe that's for the better? It was a great journey, I think the 2nd chapter was my personal favorite. I'd reccommend - a great game, pretty short, but hits right in the feels.

I have finally finished playing this game! These are my thoughts: It's a beautiful walking simulator. Some players will probably find it.... boring... mostly because of the pacing. The retro-style graphics were very appealing to me, as someone who enjoys old-looking games. I missed games like this, which favour exploration and uncovering mysteries over simply killing things. It can hardly be described as traditional horror. But it has its good, intense moments! If you are familiar with older titles like Rule of Rose or Haunting Ground, which prioritise narrative over gameplay, you'll probably enjoy this game's story and mechanics. However, Cineris Somnia isn't beautiful because of the mechanics; it's beautiful because it's a visual experience that depicts trauma through good storytelling. The pros: - -Beautiful scenarios - Good narrative - More of a slow pace if you enjoy that. -There are little secrets around every corner . The cons: There is no "real" combat. If you hate slow-paced games, then this one won't be for you. It's old-styled. If you don't like retro walking simulator games with fewer explicit clues and maps, then this one isn't for you either. I really enjoyed every second of this game — games very rarely make me cry, but this one did. I would definitely play it again.
