The game is really fun. The only thing that really annoys me is how slow the UI is, how unfriendly it is and how many clicks it needs EVERY TIME. There aren't even any shortcut keys so you actually have to click... EVERY TIME. The game itself is great. I love the theme and the gameplay as a whole is really fun. That being said... it does not seem like the company is doing very well, if it is still alive. That's sad. I would still recommend the game, though.

This is a tough game to review. It has a ton of neat ideas I haven't really seen explored much in this genre: * Hearthstone-style incrementing energy per turn * Really neat proc chaining (when you shield, passive A triggers, which triggers B, which triggers C, etc.) (similar to, say, Siralim) * The shopkeeper and potion seller are available between every combat * Being able to store excess potions in your inventory for later use is nice (instead of other games which would make you discard them) * Upgrading abilities with duplicates is well done * Previewing random effects & crits is unique Not to mention the beautiful art and characters. I love the style! And yet, it's got a lot of rough edges: * Way too many enemies do AOE or random targets on round 1, when you have only 1 energy, so can really only shield 1 character. It's effectively unavoidable damage early in a run and not fun. For the same reason, taunt feels pretty useless. * Near the end of the run, enemy damage scales so high it's unblockable without a dedicated block build, so I keep finding myself building for offense, which reduces replayability. * Passives & actives compete for slots, so: 1) "give a hero another slot" in an unreasonably high value upgrade (which makes its competing upgrades comparatively worthless). 2) because most passives can proc a lot, they're just plain more useful than actives, meaning often 2 characters do nothing but hold passives for the 3rd character to benefit from; 3) Combined with that, and the incrementing energy, and push for a glass cannon build, expensive actives are just plain unlikely to get used (when battles only last a round or two) * Lag: because everything is so heavily pushed towards procs triggering procs, 1) sometimes a single ability use can take 20 seconds to resolve; and 2) later in the game it can be impossible to track WHY something happened So in summary, it's worth checking out (but wait for a sale). I enjoyed my time with it, I just wish the devs had been able to do another balance and polish pass.

I really do like this game. I hope that some QoL things come in a future update. Skipping cutscenes would be awesome. The flow of the game gets pretty slow once you have an idea of what you're wanting to go for. The optimization really needs some work, I have a beefy PC and I have the game crashes out on me every once in a while and there are points where it just stutters like crazy. Tried playing on the steam deck and it was a slog... sad times. If these things get fixed in the future, this game will be a top tier deck builder. I still recommend playing this game, but keep in mind there is room for improvement.

Very quick paced fun combat RPG. I like the customization for the characters as well as the alternate playstyles. I found the story kind of meh, but I definitely recommend this game for the gameplay.
