all disciples are awesome but for some reason rise of the elves and galieons return bought same time freeze up and dont want to play , but every other game i have playperfectly

I have reached enlightenment. This game showed up at my house mysteriously as a youth, probably a purchase from a grandparent when we got our first family computer and yet to get internet, so we mostly played cereal box games and tycoons. I always loved the art of this game, but never really knew how to play it properly. It was one of those games that every few weeks I would just pop it in and play a bit, then move onto something else. As an adult with kids, I was looking back fondly on the game, not exactly remembering what it was called, and wanting to replay it as an adult. After a little digging, I find it. The moment I loaded it up, the music hit me with so much nostalgia. I panned through the factions, and felt transported back in time to being a kid again. In plating the first chapter, I felt it - an awakening. The moment that seemingly comes for many gamers and fathers: the single-player video game arc. For $6 on a game 26 years old I have had more fun than much of my time playing any modern, competitively motivated, (and likely team based) video game. This game is packed with grace without being too complicated. Current tech makes it so easy to boot up for even just a turn or two when you've got the time. The gameplay was even challenging enough to learn on Easy, and it felt extremely satisfying to finally understand the game as an adult player. After only completing the Empire's Saga, with 3 more to go and hopefully even some Multiplayer with my cousin who now is also a fan, this game hits incredibly hard for the price. You will thank yourself for picking this up and playing it. If an OG Dev is still around and manages to see this - Thank You twice. Once for young me, and once now.

Definitely an interesting classic game that inevitably draws comparisons to Heroes of Might & Magic. However, it plays quite differently, focusing more on survival and leveling up each individual fighter. Unfortunately, on a modern computer, there are too many technical issues that make it hard to play, so I can't fully appreciate it.
