I've played since early access, back when the game was called "I, Dracula: Genesis". The game has come a long way since then and many things have been added. Tons of build variety due to the massive selection of weapons, weapon mods, and relics. The characters play differently enough for them to all be interesting to play, but some of them I don't find fun due to their jump/dash ability. Most characters have the standard dash/roll you'll find in other rougelites; two characters, Triton and Jumpman, have a high jump which leaves you in the air for a long time, meaning your bullets just go over enemy's heads. This does make you able to reach to reach the rare health, relic, or weapon crate etc that sometimes spawn in high places, but it is annoying to have no way to dodge damage aside from leaving the fight entirely by leaping into the air. EDIT: I've just noticed this doesn't matter - any jump ability can be applied to any character. Although it's tagged as a twin-stick shooter and the game even says "controller recommended", I'd recommend playing with Kb&M. Aiming felt very weird to me on controller, I think due to the isometric view. I have no problems aiming with the mouse though. The game's aesthetic alone makes me able to ignore these and all other flaws. If the screenshots don't already have you saying to yourself "this looks like the coolest sh|t ever" like it did for me, this might not be the game for you. The characters, the environments, the enemies, weapons, projectiles, magic abilities, sound effects, music, everything here looks and sounds fantastic.

A very fun game, but perhaps receiving a little too much praise here in the reviews. It is definitely a SOLID game with great production values. It's so easy to feel drawn into the world with so much detail and love put into it by the developers. The gameplay is tight, enemies have lots of different behaviors and states. Lots of different creative weapons and powers. 8/10

Really fun roguelite with a few caveats. Pros: - The game just FEELS fun once you get the controls down. Its fun to move around, guns are fun to shoot, the environment is fun to destroy and navigate. It's just fun. - Fun and engaging gameplay with a good skill ceiling - A lot of weapon and item variety - Solid synergy between the systems going on. Not quite to the degree of Binding of Isaac, but good enough to still be very fun - Boss variety, especially with the DLC - Good character variety - Really cool graphic style that has a lot of care and detail put into it. Cons: - There are a lot of bugs. Mostly really minor things/slight inconveniences that are avoidable once you know about them - Occasionally run-ending bugs. This has only happened to me 4 times in all my time with the game, and they were all clustered within 2 play sessions. It's possible they were fixed since it hasn't happened since. - Lack of polish in some areas of gameplay. Things that aren't necessarily broken, but could've used more time/attention. If you can look past the cons, it's an excellent roguelite. Personally I think it's one of, if not THE most fun roguelite that I've played to date. Certainly my favorite twin stick shooter. If the remaining bugs ever get fixed I'd give it a 10/10 for its genre.

The description does not do this game justice, the pixel art is some of the best I've ever seen, up there with the Mega Man X and Metal Slug series.

honestly theres not much to say that hasnt already been said if you watch the preview video and this game doesnt sing to your bones , then maybe its not for you ; this is some of the slickest pixel art/animations ever seen anywhere i did prefer the weirder and more esoteric original title 'I, Dracula : Genesis' even tho i understand it was a mouthful and not easily memorable/searchable regardless this game is a visual masterpiece and plays smooth af , fantastic audio , etc , who could ask for anything more? 2 thumbs way up from me , 1000% absolutely worthy of praise
