As a huge Doraemon fan, I didn't think twice before picking up this game. But wow—this farming sim turned out to be more challenging than I expected! 🌾 First Time Diving Into Farming Sim Mechanics I’ve never played Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon before, so Doraemon: Story of Seasons was my first experience with the genre. The in-game calendar and time mechanics completely changed how I approached things. At first, I was totally lost—days flew by, and before I knew it, I had missed so many events! 💰 Financial Strategy? This Game Is Sneaky! It’s not just about planting crops and raising animals—you actually need to grasp return on investment. Every farming decision comes with costs and risks, making it more strategic than I expected. If you miscalculate, you’ll be losing money fast! But once I got the hang of it, the challenge became really satisfying. 💡 A Fresh and Engaging Experience Despite the initial struggle, I slowly started to enjoy the game's rhythm. Figuring out efficient farming methods and interacting with beloved Doraemon characters made everything feel rewarding. This game offers a fresh take on farming sims, and that’s what makes it special. ⚠️ But Here’s the Catch… Unfortunately, after the tutorial, the game doesn’t give clear guidance on what to do next. If you’re new to the genre, it’s easy to feel stuck, unsure of what step to take. A little more direction would’ve made the experience smoother. ✅ Final Verdict This game is a delightful surprise for Doraemon fans and a serious challenge for newcomers to farming sims. The learning curve is steep, but once you get past it,

Is anyone else experiencing this? Every time I click 'Play' or 'Start', the game just shows a black screen with only my cursor visible and nothing else happens. I’ve been having this issue since early 2025, and it's now May and still no fix. I’ve tried everything I could think of, but nothing works. If anyone has found a solution, please HELP ME!

7.5/10 Good game. First of all, thank you for releasing this game on PC, Bandai Namco. Now people are getting familiar with the Doraemon franchise, since Doraemon is not very well known in most western countries. The Doraemon TV show is not even available in my region. T_T Now let's talk about the game. I love the artstyle and the soundtracks. They are beautiful. The story mode is also interesting. (It's also the first Story of Seasons game I've played). However, there are also some problems that I have to mention. It is one of the grindiest games I have ever played (I don't know if other Story of Seasons game are grindy too). In the first four seasons (the first year) it is impossible to earn a lot of money in this game. Or more precisely: it is difficult to earn money, as most of the items in the various stores (with the exception of the farmer items) are too expensive. If you can't afford an item and there is an event the next day or week and you haven't gotten that item by that time, you have to skip the event and make up for it a year later (in-game year). Another problem (and this is my biggest problem) is that the cutscenes for the story mode didn't trigger properly. The game also didn't tell you how many hearts a certain villager needs to activate it. I have to watch a lot of YouTube videos and read up on various websites to know what the game wants me to do. You have to be in a certain place at a certain time and coming from the right direction to activate a cutscene in story mode. If not, you cannot unlock the cutscene. There is no real to-do list or instructions on what to do to activate the next chapter for the story mode. There is the “What-if”-Box in the mayor's house, but it only tells you how many chapters there are for each section (main story mode (Big Tree), character stories (Nobita's friends, etc.), Doraemon's gadgets and so on). That's why I have to give this game 7.5 out of 10, instead of 10/10. Aside from my issues with this game, I am also thankful that you have released a sequel to this game (DORAEMON STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of the Great Kingdom). I bought the Deluxe Edition, and right now I like the sequel more than this game. I will definitely write a review as soon as I finish the game. According to the Steam review, fans say that the sequel is a better game than the first installment. If you've never played Doraemon Story of Seasons, you can skip it since the sequel has a whole new story and it's not necessary to understand the previous story. Overall, and a question for Bandai Namco: Overall, I'm thankful this game exists, besides the issues mentioned above. I look forward to playing more of your older games, Bandai Namco. Please release your games on the GOG platform as well. I would be very grateful since licensed games don't last forever and it's hard to preserve games for the next generation.

A good but grindy farming sim. Every upgrade is expensive, and requires a lot of reasources which again requires energy which is hard to come by, escpecially at the earlier stages of the game. Late-game it's not really an issue anymore, as you hopefully would have gotten access to a kitchen and tons of ingredients stored for cooking. Money is also very hard to come by, before you gain access to makers late-game (after tons of money and rescources spent). And forget about trying to decorate your farm before that point. Furniture, fences etc requires rescources and a lot of money, and you don't really want to waste them when you have tons of other things to upgrade, e.g your equipment for less use of energy when using them, house and barn upgrades, makers etc. The doraemon crossover fits really well with this type of game (although I've never heard of doraemon before). The story is actually quite interesting and not your typical "take over farm after grandpa died" which is so overused at this point. Each character has its own distinctive personality *looking you at pioneers of olive town with the most boring characters ever*. There's tons of cutscenes in the game that show off these personalites really well. Although day to day conversation is boring and consists of mostly "the weather is nice today", "I'm hungry, what's for dinner?". But the cutscenes make up for it. Some people would say that it's a turn off because there is no marriage in this game (you play as a kid so it makes sense) but in my opinion this game doesn't need a marriage system. It has a friendship system, but even building your friendship with other villagers was a grind because it's really slow and tedious, you have to give A LOT of perfect gifts to max friendship, 166 or so perfect gifts for each villager to gain max heart, which is absolutely wild! Most people will not manage to do it, I certainly didn't. The max I got was 6 out of 10 hearts with a few of the villagers, most other only 4 or 5 hearts. The watercolor artstyle is lovely and I wish there was more farming sim games with this kind of artstyle as it fits really well. Each season is different and has lots of beautiful colors, escpecially autumn. Music is also very lovely and is easily one of the best I've heard in any of the other story of seasons games I've played so far. All in all a great but grindy farming sim. If you're a big fan of farming games (escpecially other story of seasons games), it's an easy recommandation with a catch (if you don't like grind, don't play this!). The sequel is overrall a better pick, with less grind, more QoL features, but doraemon story of seasons is certainly worth a try if you really enjoy farming sims. And an easy 100%, although it got really repetitive at the later parts of the game (mainly grinding for upgrades and money).
