Doraemon Story of Seasons is a delightful fusion of two beloved franchises—Doraemon, the iconic Japanese manga and anime series centered around a robotic cat from the future, and Story of Seasons (formerly known as Harvest Moon), a long-running farming simulation series. This unexpected crossover brings together the charm and whimsy of Doraemon’s world with the relaxing, methodical gameplay of farming sims, creating a family-friendly experience that appeals to both fans of light-hearted storytelling and players who enjoy deep, slow-paced simulation mechanics. At its core, the game offers a classic farming simulator setup: players take on the role of Nobita Nobi, Doraemon’s eternally unlucky but lovable friend, who is transported to a new world where he must cultivate the land, raise crops and animals, and build relationships with a cast of colorful characters. The game embraces the relaxing rhythm of farming life, encouraging players to plan their days carefully, balance resource management, and gradually expand their farmstead. The inclusion of Doraemon and his futuristic gadgets adds a fun twist to the gameplay, allowing players to use inventive tools to simplify chores or solve problems in creative ways. This blend keeps the gameplay fresh and engaging, even for those who might be familiar with other farming sims. The art style is one of the game’s most striking features. It captures the bright, cheerful aesthetic of the Doraemon universe, with vivid colors and charming, cartoon-like character designs that bring the world to life. The environments are richly detailed, filled with seasonal changes and a variety of landscapes that range from lush fields to bustling village streets. The animations are smooth and expressive, contributing to an immersive experience that feels cozy and inviting. This approachable visual style makes the game accessible to players of all ages, particularly younger audiences or those new to the genre. In terms of gameplay depth, Doraemon Story of Seasons offers a well-rounded and satisfying farming experience. Crop cultivation involves a straightforward but engaging cycle of planting, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting, with each crop having distinct growth times and requirements. Livestock management is equally detailed, with players caring for animals such as cows, chickens, and sheep, ensuring they are fed and happy to produce goods like milk, eggs, and wool. Beyond farming, players can engage in fishing, mining, and foraging, which provide additional resources and add variety to daily tasks. The game also includes crafting systems and upgrades, allowing players to build new tools, improve their farm infrastructure, and customize their environment. Social interaction is another significant element, with a diverse cast of villagers each possessing unique personalities and storylines. Players can form friendships, participate in festivals, and even pursue romantic relationships, much like other games in the Story of Seasons series. These social mechanics enrich the world, giving players a sense of community and purpose beyond just farming. The dialogue and character development are lighthearted and charming, fitting well within the family-friendly tone of the game. Narratively, the game integrates the whimsical sci-fi elements of Doraemon naturally into the farming sim structure. Nobita’s journey in the new world is framed by the goal of helping his friends and returning home, driving the progression through farming and social activities. The presence of Doraemon and his gadgets offers moments of humor and wonder, often providing clever solutions to challenges or serving as a reminder of the magical elements beneath the pastoral surface. This balance between everyday life and fantasy creates an enjoyable contrast that keeps the story engaging without overwhelming the relaxing gameplay. While the game excels in many areas, it is not without some minor drawbacks. The pacing can occasionally feel slow, especially for players used to more action-oriented titles, as farming sims generally require patience and routine. Some players might find the menus and inventory management a bit clunky or dated compared to more recent farming simulation releases. Additionally, the game’s challenge level is relatively mild, making it less appealing for those seeking intense or competitive gameplay. However, these aspects are often considered strengths by fans of the genre, who appreciate the calming, unhurried experience. Overall, Doraemon Story of Seasons is a charming and wholesome title that successfully merges the playful world of Doraemon with the beloved mechanics of farming simulators. It offers a warm, engaging experience filled with exploration, creativity, and heartwarming character interactions. Perfect for players seeking a cozy and stress-free game, it stands out as a unique entry that broadens the appeal of both franchises while delivering a rich and satisfying gameplay loop. Whether you are a longtime fan of Doraemon or a farming sim enthusiast, this game provides a joyful escape into a world where friendship, farming, and a touch of magic come together beautifully. Doraemon Story of Seasons is a charming and heartwarming farming sim that beautifully blends the relaxing gameplay of Story of Seasons with the nostalgic world of Doraemon. The art style is stunning, the soundtrack is peaceful, and the interactions between characters feel genuine. While the pace is slow and there’s no romance system, the wholesome vibe and emotional story make it a cozy and fulfilling experience for fans of either franchise.

As a huge Doraemon fan, I didn't think twice before picking up this game. But wow—this farming sim turned out to be more challenging than I expected! 🌾 First Time Diving Into Farming Sim Mechanics I’ve never played Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon before, so Doraemon: Story of Seasons was my first experience with the genre. The in-game calendar and time mechanics completely changed how I approached things. At first, I was totally lost—days flew by, and before I knew it, I had missed so many events! 💰 Financial Strategy? This Game Is Sneaky! It’s not just about planting crops and raising animals—you actually need to grasp return on investment. Every farming decision comes with costs and risks, making it more strategic than I expected. If you miscalculate, you’ll be losing money fast! But once I got the hang of it, the challenge became really satisfying. 💡 A Fresh and Engaging Experience Despite the initial struggle, I slowly started to enjoy the game's rhythm. Figuring out efficient farming methods and interacting with beloved Doraemon characters made everything feel rewarding. This game offers a fresh take on farming sims, and that’s what makes it special. ⚠️ But Here’s the Catch… Unfortunately, after the tutorial, the game doesn’t give clear guidance on what to do next. If you’re new to the genre, it’s easy to feel stuck, unsure of what step to take. A little more direction would’ve made the experience smoother. ✅ Final Verdict This game is a delightful surprise for Doraemon fans and a serious challenge for newcomers to farming sims. The learning curve is steep, but once you get past it,

7.5/10 Good game. First of all, thank you for releasing this game on PC, Bandai Namco. Now people are getting familiar with the Doraemon franchise, since Doraemon is not very well known in most western countries. The Doraemon TV show is not even available in my region. T_T Now let's talk about the game. I love the artstyle and the soundtracks. They are beautiful. The story mode is also interesting. (It's also the first Story of Seasons game I've played). However, there are also some problems that I have to mention. It is one of the grindiest games I have ever played (I don't know if other Story of Seasons game are grindy too). In the first four seasons (the first year) it is impossible to earn a lot of money in this game. Or more precisely: it is difficult to earn money, as most of the items in the various stores (with the exception of the farmer items) are too expensive. If you can't afford an item and there is an event the next day or week and you haven't gotten that item by that time, you have to skip the event and make up for it a year later (in-game year). Another problem (and this is my biggest problem) is that the cutscenes for the story mode didn't trigger properly. The game also didn't tell you how many hearts a certain villager needs to activate it. I have to watch a lot of YouTube videos and read up on various websites to know what the game wants me to do. You have to be in a certain place at a certain time and coming from the right direction to activate a cutscene in story mode. If not, you cannot unlock the cutscene. There is no real to-do list or instructions on what to do to activate the next chapter for the story mode. There is the “What-if”-Box in the mayor's house, but it only tells you how many chapters there are for each section (main story mode (Big Tree), character stories (Nobita's friends, etc.), Doraemon's gadgets and so on). That's why I have to give this game 7.5 out of 10, instead of 10/10. Aside from my issues with this game, I am also thankful that you have released a sequel to this game (DORAEMON STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of the Great Kingdom). I bought the Deluxe Edition, and right now I like the sequel more than this game. I will definitely write a review as soon as I finish the game. According to the Steam review, fans say that the sequel is a better game than the first installment. If you've never played Doraemon Story of Seasons, you can skip it since the sequel has a whole new story and it's not necessary to understand the previous story. Overall, and a question for Bandai Namco: Overall, I'm thankful this game exists, besides the issues mentioned above. I look forward to playing more of your older games, Bandai Namco. Please release your games on the GOG platform as well. I would be very grateful since licensed games don't last forever and it's hard to preserve games for the next generation.
