The perfect example of a creepy cosy game. I didn't expect to be this enchanted but Dread Fields was a beautiful experience. The colour palette, music and the atmosphere all blended perfectly together and I felt so at home in my rustic little farmhouse. I enjoyed completing the daily tasks at my leisure whilst exploring the land for collectibles. When you complete the game, you can replay any chapter to pick up missed collectibles or achievements which shows how thoughtful the developers are. Thank you for this delightful game and let me raise a saucer of milk for the life of beautiful Chicha the cat.

I liked first part of the game. But then tasks became too routine. Also some other gameplay elemets were weak (especially labyrinth) . Story was not bad but nothing spectacular. Overall it is decent short game with srong nostalgia vibes for people who spent their childhood in village

Really dig this game. It's kinda one of those games like the ones where you are running a shop at night and are clearly haunted but its for a farm. The tasks change up to keep it interesting and the spooks were pretty spooky. I very much enjoyed this Only wish there was more

Maybe a little predictable and not particularly intense, but I thought the game was made really well, at least when it comes to the vibes and the visuals. Takes about 90 minutes, you have a list of tasks for each day like feeding the cow and the chickens, it's mostly linear, but there were a few small things you could do differently like saving the animals. I thought it was much better than the walking-simulator you made a few years ago, particularly in the use of retro texture and the modeling. I like that the game is very bright and colorful, I think too many devs have a tendency to abuse the darkness, mostly because they don't want to texture everything, but you did a very good job with the visuals specifically, honestly one of the nicest uses of color that I have seen in a horror game. Strangely I found the game to be very cozy, it just looks so inviting, and while the game still had a decent atmosphere and the use of gore, overall it was not very intense and honestly very chill. Where did you get that tiger texture for the blanket, I had a very similar one for many years, wonder if it's the real thing. Sorry about your cat, I lost a few angels myself, but nice of you to immortalize the soul in the game, I also like how you positioned the model in a very cat-like way, always doing something the cat would do, like hiding under a pillow, adding some character to the game. I kinda wish there were more optional things to do other than the linear achievements, sure you can collect all the apples and all, but I was hoping for some rare fish, or something along those lines, maybe more collectibles if you up for it. Pros: (+) The use of texture/modeling is surprisingly great here, for a horror game it's actually very cozy and the farm is a joy to look at, so colorful and full of character. (+) Overall the effects and the jumpscares were okay, I like that you tried to build the tension, it was not very intense because the game is linear, and people generally are not afraid to play the games that feel on the rails. (+) There were a few cute moments with the animations and the cat, the narrative was kinda serviceable but nothing special. Feedback: Maybe add more optional tasks: - you had a few small optional things like eating all the apples, but I think you could try to do a little more, it would help with immersion, otherwise you just running from point A to B, a few extra hidden areas perhaps other than the doors - on that note, when you make the player feel like they playing a linear game, it will drain the tension because they will feel safe knowing that they are getting pushed through the story, so maybe try not to design the game where it's obvious that you only following the objectives Overall Thoughts: 7.5/10 It's kinda basic as horror games go, very vanilla format and progression, but you did about as good of a job as you could with it, I thought the visuals and the effects were pretty good, considering the indie scope anyway. Very nice saturation of colors, I wish more horror games were actually pretty, and not just dark corridors. Maybe could use more optional tasks, I felt like I was holding W too much. Good for the price, amazing, not so much. Niche, obscure and underrated games: http://store.steampowered.com/curator/31294838-Hidden-Gem-Discovery/
