Just finished this one, and honestly, it didn’t hit the same way the first game did (and I already had quite a few problems with that one). The atmosphere is still creepy and there are a few solid scares, sure, but it felt more like a side project than a full game. The story(?) was pretty thin and it lacked the tension and pacing that made the original memorable. The controls are still terrible, and it didn’t help that they decided to add more action sequences with a protagonist who’s still as slow as a dying snail. Do yourself a favor, and play with a mouse and keyboard instead of a controller, that makes things a bit better, at least… And there are soooo many bugs and optimization issues, black screen at startup, not being able to play in windowed mode for long, missing subtitles, and so on, and so on… I guess this is not horrible, I'm willing to give it a thumbs up (a very weak one) but if you loved the first game, this one might feel like a letdown.

If you've played the first DreadOut and though "hmm, I want more of this", then Keepers of the Dark is for you. It's basically a remix of the first game using it's assets, with a new questline and some new ghosts to keep you on your toes. It's not an amazing, must-play kinda deal, but it's fun for what it is.

the combat is so fucking janky and some of the boss fights are infuriating as hell, but if you liked dreadout, then you'll like this game. it might be less scary, but the ghosts are more interesting/thought out, and the gameplay is more fun.

Very hard, fun when you figure out the puzzles, i am stuck at a boss battle right now in the first realm, i believe there are 8 different realms in this one with different environments in each one. A continuation of the first one where Linda also is able to see flashbacks in this blue spiritual like aura that is verrrrry realistic because i have seen real spirits and auras and the colors in this are very similar to in real life, such amazing detail and it is super cool to see all the scenes that Linda went through in the first dreadout, way harder than the first dreadout in terms of combat i suppose because i need help with this boss xDD, though in this one, you are able to start out with your phone and also a camera as well which also has a flash feature, still trying to beat the boss, spine chilling, one of those games where you will just stand there staring at the ghosts with the hairs all over your body standing up and you are contemplating whether or not if you should move and risk going into limbo again and again xD creepy. I love it, i don't usually like stuff that is too hard to play and enjoy, but the simplicity of it and the fatal frame like nature along with the ghosts keeps me coming back for more heart races and scares :) truthfully one of the greatest games, and greatest stories, i have ever had the privilege of experiencing in my life. Also check out the DreadOut movie if you haven't, super amazing and has pocongs in the movie, movie is really good i promise unless you are a buzzkill or a party pooper, ::spoiler alert:: read ahead if you want: the ending will also make you laugh so hard when you realize what the guy at the end says because he ends up wanting to go back into the dread out world XXDDDD wont tell you who he is or why he goes back but it is so damn funny xD

I’m going to start with a warning. There are a couple of bugs that are common and you need to know how to deal with them. Firstly, sometime when you die, the sound will shut off. Just hit the escape key to open the inventory and that should clear it up. Secondly, the hide and seek girl will sometimes bug out. You will just have to leave the level and come back. Neither of those bugs are dealbreakers and I really enjoyed playing this game. It’s got a great atmosphere and while none of the puzzles or fights are difficult, it is still an engaging game. I look forward to playing the next game in the series.
