Yep! I Rate this Game! Core: Roguelike [-Not Roguelite, a significant distinction.] Style: Humerous with Serious Combat. Classes: Several and Hybridisation comes recommended. Graphics: Lovingly Handcrafted. Complexity: Moderate to Midgame. Cerebral in Mid- to Endgame. Dungeons: Huge Variety and some Big Ones! Offense/Defense?: You better Train hard in both or you'll hear the Shovel. Can I Tweak Stuff?: Absolutely. Go for it! Pets?: Yes, one type. Bring vegetable scraps and old corn cobs. TL;DR: An Excellent Game with quite some depth behind the Quirky Humour.
Somehow, it keeps getting better every time I come back to it. After a decade, you'd expect its inertia to have petered out. It's a good time to be wrong, at least! If you need a break from the seriousness of DCSS or Jupiter Hell, and want a fun roguelike with an emphasis on fun skill combinations and fun toys, Dungeonmans is what you want. If enjoy incremental forward metaprogression, all the better. 3pi/10, would run necro-Kenshiro-with-a-bow-for-some-reason again. And am.
Never took the time to write a review for this game and it feels unfair as i still think about it at random years after i bought it like "would be fun to start a new run rn". This game is and always was a hidden gem and i am pround to count myself as one of the remaining dungeonmans. Kudos to the dev im gonna go check out your other game.
