It's a little puzzle game which serves as a prequel for DUSK and can be completed on 100% in under 3 hours. It is a nice bonus game for the fans of the original title, however, as a standalone product, it is pretty weak, and I am not even speaking about the graphics. Somebody older than me may love the old 80's atari-like visual style, it's the content and the length. As I've said, the main campaign is barely 2 hours long, and even though the game does present some interesting mechanics, it never fully explores them and presents actually complicated or challenging puzzles. On top of that, the enemy Ai is randomized, so you cannot make complex maps which require precise movements justified by complete knowledge of the game. Overall, on sale for 2$ it is a nice little piece which can give you 2-3 hours of fun, however, the full price of 7$ is a bit too much. There are more interesting and complex indie titles for the same price out there.

Turn based Sokoban + shooting, short and fun. I often get bored of puzzle games fast but the music, atmosphere, retro style and tweaks to the genre kept me interested. But the 30 levels didn't take long to get through. Game is easy to medium difficulty, nothing too hair pulling. Level editor could be so much better, picking block types is absurdly long winded, there should be keyboard shortcuts for block types or something, it's too arduous to make levels.

The main levels are fine for 2 hours and are entertaining, but the MEAT is in the custom levels in the workshop where there are some masterpieces.

If you are a dusk fan you MUST play this. Its a cool game but it also has a story about what happenned before e1m1, so check that out!

Nice Sokoban/shooting game, fun to play, made by the developer of DUSK. Unlike most Sokoban games I've played, DUSK '82 does not demand the player to think a couple steps ahead, it is relatively a relaxing game, offers 30 levels and can be finished in 2 hours. The maps are not too big nor too complicated, each has a core puzzle to solve and once the player understands the puzzle can be fast to clean. The shooting made this game stand out among hundreds of Sokoban games on Steam. The goal is to eliminate every enemy in a level. Different weapons work on different enemies and you could only carry one at a time, it is important to understand when to take which. Also, you need to take advantage of settings like using a conveyor to take the bullet to the target, lure the enemy to step on a landmine. The smartest design might be that later level which has useless keys blocking useful keys. DUSK '82 does not offer a hint system but it has good guidance, as in previous levels players are well taught to switch a trapdoor to eliminate enemies, it is natural to think to leave a key on the trapdoor to get rid of it. The only thing is there is no rewind, so try not to press the wrong key. Like it is in DUSK, a soap is better than any weapon. I recommend this game, regardless whether you've played DUSK previously.
