It is phenomenally criminal that I've loved this game for as long as I have, consistently recommended it to all and yet never reviewed it myself. I guess I may as well right that wrong now. Likely due to 2D Indie platformer over saturation, Dustforce glided over most radars, which is upsetting, but doesn't make it any less precious. With the most gorgeous aesthetic, serene music, whimsical environments, endless replayability, whirlpools of content, this game does everything one of its genre should set out to do. The physics are complicated, yet every detail of the momentum is crafted with intent. Sometimes the platforming requirements might get a bit too demanding for the physics, but by and large, it's a comfortable, meticulous experience. Dustforce is up there with the 2D platformer greats.

It's criminal that this game doesn't get more attention. I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface in terms of skill at this game. The movement is some of the most satisfying I've played in any 2D platformer. It may feel a little awkward to get used to at first, but once you get it, it feels amazing. Learning each level until you can get SS rank is also super fun and satisfying. Each level is also only a minute or two long at most, which makes it super easy to restart a level if you mess up. The movement, levels, and amazing soundtrack easily puts you into a flow state that makes you feel amazing. I can't wait to keep playing and eventually SS all levels.

Dustforce is the best platformer I've ever played by a long shot. It is a masterclass in level design, and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who's interested.

Underrated and incredibly high quality 2D platformer, with the same level of rewarding and in-depth precision gameplay as Celeste. Don't sleep on this game, it's incredibly fun.
