If you're anything like me, You've seen the bad reviews for this game and are skeptical because, frankly, this game looks fantastic but.. bad reviews put a horrible taste in your mouth. Let me get straight to the point when I say that the reason there are bad reviews is that this game is NOT beginner friendly, I've spent maybe my first hour tinkering with controls and figuring out what I can do. Which personally I LOVED. I got to figure out techniques to platform, combat, get around, regen stamina. This game doesn't hold your hand which puts a lot of people off. I'll agree the game is buggy but it's only an indie dev so I didn't expect perfection. If you're looking for a bizarre soulslike platformer experience I can't recommend this enough

This game is Surreal as it gets, feels like an old lost Freeware game from the late 90s, although being in early access making the game feel pretty unfinished, the movement music and atmosphere are superb. Stunning landscapes and ridiculously fun character movement make this Early Access game a worthwhile purchase, I want the Dev to have as much support as possible so we can get a more finished and polished Eternity Egg. My main gripes with the game are: - The combat is super underbaked EXP is very limited from killing enemies making leveling super grindy. - The overworld traversal can feel very sluggish to the point it feels tedious. I tried to upgrade my ship but it corrupted my save so be prepared for lots of jank. Make sure to join the discord and report your bugs to help improve the game! - There's been 3 different times I clipped through the map and died. Despite my problems with the game I cannot stop playing, and that's the sign of a good game right there, I wanna see more of this world. Discover more secrets, improve at pogoing around the world! I'd say this game is EGGCELENT!

An EXTREMELY cautious recommend for now. The game clearly has potential, and once you get the hang of the movement theres a lot of fun to be had. The game nails the style its going for, and there's tons of areas to explore. When this game is finished, I'm sure it'll be a banger. BUT CURRENTLY: - Game lacks a massive amount of QOL features and settings - The Keybinds are personally not to my taste and cannot be changed - Clipping issues galore, kinda buggy, and looking up while standing on some platforms makes the screen flash and flicker very fast - Save file corruption issues - Enemies that get one shot give the same amount of currency as enemies that take many hits to kill. Why even bother killing any normal enemy that isn't the basic roller? And the two biggest negatives: 1) The dev tried to put alot of npcs and quests in the game before releasing the early access, but the stated number he added is a little misleading because ALMOST NONE OF THE QUESTS ARE CURRENTLY FUNCTIONAL. Many npc's are broken, some locations are obviously unfinished, and one of the bosses (of which there are currently only a few) seems to despawn if you approach him. 2) Personally I find the combat against regular enemies to be completely out of line with the games fast paced movement based nature. The optimal strat for alot of enemies is to just walk up. Block attack. Swing back. Repeat. It's very slow and repetitive. I'm not the kind of person who tries to find an optimal cheesy way to play a game and then complains about it. Infact I pretty much always play in sub-optimal but fun ways. But this game really has no reward or reason to spice up up your combat with all the movement tech, it always just wastes time and makes things take way longer. Also the first boss is genuinely kinda horrible. I get he's supposed to be simple, but there doesn't seem to be any strat against him that isn't just standing on a ledge and jumping on his head when he's close. So tedious, so slow. So with all these negatives, it's hard to recommend the game. It's current state is bad. But the dev is making updates to fix some issues, and he clearly seems committed to making this game the best it can be. The parts of the game that currently exist and are functional are really fun and unique, and I have faith this game will turn out great. For now my review will be positive, just barely.

i'd recommend you hold off until the game releases. its pretty cool and i like the movement from what i've played so far, its just too unfinished and unpolished to spend 20 bucks on it. It doesnt really bother telling you the controls or anything and it gets really confusing. like why is tab the ground pound and dash move? how was i supposed to figure that out without a menu. it just needs a bit of polished because i really love the theme and levels. i've barely played though so ill prob update this later. edit: i got a bit further but when i decided to travel back to a level and my game crashed and my save filed got corrupted. im just gonna wait until they fix it until i play it more

Don't need a tutorial, all these negative reviews complaining, what a bunch of babies, THIS IS ART AND GAMING AT ITS FINEST. I'm using a controller no problem, HAVE YOU TRIED PUSHING BUTTONS AND LEARNING FOR YOURSELF. I didn't even leave the first room with pots until I figured out how to get all the way up there. Sure the staff talking could have said, I'm in your inventory after it said I'm free, BUT thats what made me think, AM I carrying it after it fell outa the sky and gave me DMT break pierce the viel visions? So I check and equip evrything. THIS IS EPIC, THIS WHOLE GAME IS A SECRET!!!! If you find all the pots in the very first room you will have 1005 stars, and 40 bells. Theres Soo much, its next level, you can wall run, STAIGHT UP OR ACROSS THE WALLS, dash, cartwheel, air dash, pogo jump, pogo slam, slide, lunge attack, charge attack, roll, straffe. Theres hidden fairies to collect on top of all the other secrets. You can reply levels to try and reach the end without dieing and loosing all the bells, and upgrade your staff and levels even more. This reminds me of the first time I played mario 64, only better. Speed runs are going ot be LIT, this games going to go VIRAL.
