Masterpiece ruined by Ubisoft Connect launcher. You have to log in each time you need to play this piece of sh*t. Ubisoft added achievements to Steam, very good, but why did you not make it a standalone Steam version without the Ubisoft trash launcher? **also no online is sad** Also, to optimize the experience with high FPS, you need to do this because FPS is f*cked in this game: -install "Large Address Aware" -then in Task Manager - details, then - set affinity and make the game run on 4 cores only.

After finishing this game for the 6th time, I can safely say it is still an absolute masterpiece. I’ve played through it 5 or 6 times in total since 2013, but all of those runs were back on the standalone Uplay launcher. Coming back to it on Steam after an 8 year break, I was really excited to hunt all the achievements from scratch. Unfortunately, the Ubisoft launcher automatically synced my old data on the first boot and instantly unlocked every single achievement. It was a massive bummer because I genuinely wanted the satisfaction of earning them again. Despite that frustrating launcher issue, the game itself holds up beautifully. The stealth sandbox and core gameplay are just so incredibly fun. Visually, I honestly think it looks much better than Far Cry 4, the tropical island aesthetic and summer vibes give it a beautiful, vibrant look that the sequel lacked. The landscapes, ancient temples, and hidden WWII ruins, bunkers, rusted tanks and planes make exploring the world incredibly immersive. The story is fantastic too, and the final choice actually feels impactful, unlike the disappointing "choose A or choose A" illusion of choice you get in the fourth game. Plus, playing through this story again reminds you why Vaas is one of the best villains ever written. Honestly, replaying this game six times might actually be the literal definition of insanity, but I regret nothing, especially when the soundtrack is this brilliant. There is still nothing quite like the absolute chaotic joy of burning down weed fields with a flamethrower while Skrillex and Damian Marley blast in the background. If I have one real complaint about the mechanics, it’s the parkour. For a 2012 game made by Ubisoft - the literal creators of Assassin's Creed, the climbing and movement feel surprisingly clunky and poorly executed. You can really feel the contrast when you look at a studio like Techland; they were way less popular back then, but they absolutely nailed first-person movement just two and a half years later in Dying Light (even if their stealth wasn't nearly as good as Far Cry's). At the end of the day, clunky parkour and broken achievement syncs can't ruin what is fundamentally a phenomenal game. Six playthroughs later, and it's still an amazing experience. Highly recommended!

The action-packed jungle adventure that calls you back every once in a while for another playthrough. Get stranded on a pirate island, take psychedelic drugs, get tattoos that give you superpowers and slowly slip into insanity in this fever dream atmospheric masterpiece. Also, **** Ubisoft Launcher for making me log in every time I start the game.

Did Vaas ever tell you the Definition of insanity yet!? it's doing the same thing, over and over again, excpecting a different result apperently, now you know o7 , 100% on xbox back in the day, gona 100% it now again! 10/10 game, best FC game there is imo

Shame that Ubisoft got all the wrong hints after this game, and all went only downhill from here. And yes, the story, even though janky at times, had a distinctive message, that no other game has told as of yet. The message, that YOU actually had all the fun in the world, running around, blowing up stuff, and haven't even thought about all the countless people you've killed. And YOU totally enjoyed this jungle fever journey into madness.
