Full of charm and soul, also very unexpectedly funny and with a unique art style. I am a huge fan of the realistic arms and armor depictions as well. A very short and sweet game- you could finish it in an afternoon if you wanted to, though you might be left wishing there was more time to spend with the characters you come to meet.

If such a problem arises, paste "--in-process-gpu" (without the "") in launch options to be able to make screenshots and all... older RPGMaker shenanigans. There are probably other fixes, I just used the same as in Fear & Hunger. It works, in a way. This isn't Fear & Hunger, more like Jeeves & Wooster if it was filmed in 15th-century Slovakia. It's a friendly, nonchalant game, cleverly funny and not derivative in its transgressions. You know how some games are freaky for the sake of it, then use it as an excuse for being lacklustre? Here, that freakishness feels earned and thought-out, so meticulous it in itself becomes a great feature. Albeit, it crowns an already good game. Good-looking, too, for the loading screen alone is worth a thousand words. You can see that Felvidek is high-budget compared to an average RPGMaker production, boasting 3D cutscenes and custom sprites of great quality. Interesting artistic decisions were made. The stylish colour palette is almost CGA. To make a game so pinkish was a feat of bravery, it being a divisive colour of Barbies and swine. But it works in the tiny-scaled world, with each background distinctively hand-made, not simply tiled, and most characters having unique sprites. All of it serves as important landmarks for backtracking, which begins with your first steps as an alcoholic knight whose pretty wife left him because of the booze that quenched his shell shock. Pavol wears a face of my sleep paralysis. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3398239995 Upon establishing such a romantic premise, the game doesn't waste any time plopping you into its world. Suddenly, a castle explodes on the horizon and you're ordered to go there. Things get messy when you get in trouble with a cult that kidnaps beggars from the street. Allegedly anyway. The ensuing occult drama is rife with betrayal and murder. I planned to just check out if the game boots up, maybe meddle with the options. Next glimpse of consciousness: I barely fought off a gang of horrifying demons in The Meet Keep. Gotta find the Jew. Porridge is a life-saver. Pray more. Play more. And there's always more, of just never know what. I got so engaged I'd beaten it in one night! Don't expect some major RPG complexity, the loop stays linear, yet Felidvek rapidly pulls you into it by dangling new gear in front of your nose and making you giggle like a girl at its quests. Go through the motions, soak it in a little. Let a bizarre pseudo-historical atmosphere of Felvidek hit. It's a unique setting that talks in interesting ways. About demons and politics, women and Hussites. And what's up with that music? I didn't expect such a chill, comforting ambience, strangely post-rock or even IDM-ish in its guitar riffs. Fedlivek provides a soothing accompaniment to a good hustle for your money. As I said before, it's a gratifying loop of exposés, challenging JRPG combat encounters, and delusional drivel whose style can't be easily reproduced. The encounters are tightly designed, so prepare to die, maybe even a silly amount. And to get lost a plenty. You'd think it takes patience but the comedy relief will get through to you sooner than later. Played with a straight face and tastefully dry, the humour here retains attention. Most importantly, the game mostly relies on historical references, not pop-cultural, and no one breaks character to ask "what the sigma?" or anything. The style remains rock-solid visually and the narrative is comprised entirely of poetic rambles in Old English, keeping the strange tone consistent. Another bold move that paid off in unprecedented phrasings. Felvidek's haths and the dosts keep improving upon situations where you, say, take a bath in a brothel while the priest is watching. "Milady hath absconded from my side", you say, then cut someone's ears off. This game is quirky like that. Just give it a go and let it cook.
