As a retired Firefighter I would say that this is the most realistic Firefighting game at the moment. It does a great job at simulating different types of hazards as well as way to tackle those hazards. I also really enjoy that you have to use different tactics if you are using water VS foam VS extinguishers. I love that there are different difficulties to allow the bar for entry low enough to access probably anyone, but yet still have difficulty setting to challenge experienced firefighters. All in all I say this is a must buy.

They got the Firefighting part of Firefighting simulator well enough, but where's the rest of the job? Fire calls are roughly 5% of the call types Fire Fighters deal with. Flooding, Medical, Disaster Recovery, Medical, Missing Persons, Medical, Motor Vehicle Crashes and Medical are just some of the more typical call types for the Fire Department. Honorable Mentions go to Smells & Bells (where nothing is found), Gas Odors, Lockouts, Lots of Parades and just a whole bunch of cleaning. Just the simple act of being able to get out of your Turnout Gear seems to have been overlooked in this game. AI drivers are terrible, making driving the Fire Truck around town tedious and annoying. You can't clean up anything after a fire. Can't report anything on the radio. Can't call for mutual aid. Still parking in boxes. Fire behavior is .. whatever. No hydraulic ventilation. What is smoke? Is the smoke in the room with us? No. It's not. "Into the Flames" may be janky as all getout, but it's a very inclusive and all-encompassing game whereas Astragon once again gets target fixation on one element of a simulation and kicks the product out the door. Not to mention absolutely no investment in any patents from Federal, Pierce, E-One, Morning Pride, Hurst, etc .. which was what hurt The Squad more than anything and actually bogged down its development path for almost 2 years. Astragon promised a house, but instead built a shed and made sure all the windows were perfectly level but never put the walls up.. or the roof.. or a door.. or a floor.. This may be worth it if it's on sale after a few DLC and SEVERE QoL improvements, but you're probably going to have a better time with "Into the Flames" than this "promising start" at "finished game" prices.

Surprisingly good simulation way better than I expected! After a quick tutorial, I jumped straight into multiplayer, since that’s where the real fun is. There’s just something about tackling emergencies together that creates the best kind of chaos. The game makes a great first impression the fire and smoke effects look impressively realistic, and the whole rescue mission atmosphere pulls you in right away. The AI isn’t perfect, but it handles smaller fires reasonably well. Co-op, on the other hand, is pure mayhem in the best possible way. There's nothing quite like pulling off a successful rescue in the final seconds! The fire station as your home base works fine you can gear up and browse available missions. Still, I wish there were more interactions, like repairing and upgrading the fire truck or maintaining your equipment. It would add some nice variety and give more depth to the day-to-day life of a firefighter. One thing to note: players with lower-end PCs might run into performance or optimization issues. Other than that? I’m having a blast. Best co-op moment so far: I was sprinting to rescue a teammate who got knocked out after flames burst right in his face. He was unconscious in the bathroom, and I was rushing in to save him. And then… the bathroom floor suddenly collapsed, and he crashed down with a toilet landing squarely on his head. Strangely enough, that toilet must’ve worked some kind of miracle, because right after the “impact” he stood up like nothing happened and jumped right back into the fire to help out! We laughed so hard we could barely finish the mission 🚽 Honestly, we might need to add “toilet” to the firefighter’s first aid kit who knew it’d be more effective than bandages or medkits? 😂

So far in terms of realism, the game is in a much better place in comparison to The Squad. But it still lacks a lot. Some of which I don't know if they'll be able to fix or add because it's animation stuff. But nevertheless, we don't "fireman's carry" victims in the fire service. It's very rare for that to happen. We drag victims with a certain technique so that they stay low to the ground and get the best air possible. We don't raise them into a super heated atmosphere when they don't have an SCBA. And when it comes to downed firefighters, it's the same thing. If a member calls mayday cause he's down, for one, we should actually have to package him and drag him back outside. Two, I hate the lack of pass devices in the game. If yourself or another member is downed, your pass should go off and start activating. Especially when multiplayer is a thing. Second, and this is a personal pet peeve of mine since The Squad. We shouldn't have to grab a nozzle and attach it to an attack line. That is so horribly inefficient and would never happen on an actual fire ground. Almost everything is pre connected. Which leads to my next point of hose lays. There should be preconnected crosslays by the pump panel, not just grab the hose by the coupling and run. You should grab a bundle and have to flake it out, with the nozzle already attached. Which also leads to hydrant connections. The player should be connecting to the hydrant first, then connecting to the engine/truck. As well as the animation for the opening of the hydrant should be behind the hydrant. You never work in front of the hydrant in case one of the caps fail and shoot off. Teamwork/animation. Very rarely are you going to have one person do exactly one thing. Especially with advancing a hose. I wish the AI, or when in multiplayer. Another character could help back you up and advance hose. As well as forcible entry. Having a second person come up and help hitting and striking when trying to force a door, you can't always just jam the forks in first go and pop it. Lastly with this, I'd like more autonomy. Such as being able to take a ladder off a apparatus and placing it where you want on the structure. Also it's a little comical to watch a single person just grab a 35ft ladder like it's a 5lb weight. And in terms of driving, the player should choose wear they'd like to park their vehicle. Not be forced to park it where the game wants you to. Lastly, is some things I'd just like added. One, I'd like to be able to have my pack on and not be on air. So either SCBA on, with no mask, and mask on but not on air. Maybe I just haven't figured this one out yet, but I'd like to be able to be in station clothes at the station. Like why am I in the kitchen with turnouts on? Plus it'd be cool to get a call, run over to the rig, and actually gear up with an actual animation.

EDIT: I don't know why people are crashing, I haven't had a single crash and run at well above 90 fps the whole time on max settings. Turn on Frame Generation and you're good to go. Only got a half hour into the game so far but I'd say it's pretty awesome. Made the mistake of opening a door even though I heard fire on the other side, and it blew up in my face and made the fire WAY harder to contain. Desperately need ventilation, walls being broken, windows being open / closed, etc.. Highly recommend if you like firefighter type things.
