im not sure why the mixed reviews because the game is pretty good, a little janky here and there but overall a fun experience. im not sure i would be in for this one at 25 bucks in 2025 but for the 2 or 3 dollars i spent on it on sale its a steal and cant go wrong. if you are reading this and its 10 or less go ahead and grab it.

A game for players who just wanna chill and not play something intense, although the game is good it gets boring at times when you repeat the same things, fish, sell fish, sell and so on. But its fun to grind for new boats

The first fishing game of the franchise, got a large amount of time spent here, yet seeing i only found this game after their release of north atlantic, i spent less time then i otherwise would have, an unique region of the world, a very big niche in the simulation genre (fishing), the only real competition is deadliest catch:the game, but as the name suggests those focus on crabs, while this game focus's on a wider variety of fish. the graphics and physics do feel dated compared to their newer games but still quite enjoyable to play. The game scales quite nicely depending on the boat you have, meaning if you want to rush it, you can just take out a loan, purchase a big ship like a trawler and use the money it makes to buy the smaller ones, or actually scale gradually one tier of ship higher than the previous one. I recommend this game if you like the maritime world and simulations, however there's a newer version from the same developers i would recommend more. This should be more a 'complete the collection' type game and buying Fishing: North Atlantic if you're only looking for one fishing game of this niche.

Good and relaxing game for when you just want to chill. Good looking ships and nice graphics (at least for when the game was made). It can be quite repetitive, however as a simulator it is to be expected. Once you get the hang of it, the game becomes a bit to easy in my opinion and i wish there was more of a learningcurve to it. I also wish that some of the ships would model more of the interior. Lastly, the game would also benefit from having more things to do than just line, net, crab and trawl-fishing. I know most of my criticisms have been adressed already by the developers in their newer games (Fishing North Atlantic an Ships at Sea), and i look forward to see more form them. I have had a generaly positive experience of the game and do not regret the money and time i have put into this game.

12 hours in and these are my thoughts. ? A great game but this needs to have rod fishing in too instead of going out to sea placing lines and then having to go back to port to rest or skip-time for 20 so hours then to go out and get the lines again. this is tedious. needs to be a skip time feature whilst on the boat. To go out and spend 20 mins to a couple of hours rod fishing from the back of the boat then go sell your fish would be a great starting feature of this game. Also have been between many ports and the fast travel does not seem to work. lines to expensive at 10 grand a pop / and boats are to expensive i know that on some port missions you can earn some nice cash like 50.000 grand but still to get the 3rd boat it is far to expensive. these need to be more affordable in game. rod fishing fishing from port or from rocks or the boat a must. these are just what i have experienced up to now and what i think the game needs without these extra features it would be really boring spending time in the game.
