Good and relaxing game for when you just want to chill. Good looking ships and nice graphics (at least for when the game was made). It can be quite repetitive, however as a simulator it is to be expected. Once you get the hang of it, the game becomes a bit to easy in my opinion and i wish there was more of a learningcurve to it. I also wish that some of the ships would model more of the interior. Lastly, the game would also benefit from having more things to do than just line, net, crab and trawl-fishing. I know most of my criticisms have been adressed already by the developers in their newer games (Fishing North Atlantic an Ships at Sea), and i look forward to see more form them. I have had a generaly positive experience of the game and do not regret the money and time i have put into this game.

Its a good game just could use a few tweaks to make the game a bit better like realism. Also could use more boats instead of the dlc and cheaper boats for the starting.

12 hours in and these are my thoughts. ? A great game but this needs to have rod fishing in too instead of going out to sea placing lines and then having to go back to port to rest or skip-time for 20 so hours then to go out and get the lines again. this is tedious. needs to be a skip time feature whilst on the boat. To go out and spend 20 mins to a couple of hours rod fishing from the back of the boat then go sell your fish would be a great starting feature of this game. Also have been between many ports and the fast travel does not seem to work. lines to expensive at 10 grand a pop / and boats are to expensive i know that on some port missions you can earn some nice cash like 50.000 grand but still to get the 3rd boat it is far to expensive. these need to be more affordable in game. rod fishing fishing from port or from rocks or the boat a must. these are just what i have experienced up to now and what i think the game needs without these extra features it would be really boring spending time in the game.

(Updated on 13 June 2024) It's a fairly good game, but there are a few things you really need to know before buying it. - Net fishing is the easiest, specially if you have a crew that is half decent. Unfortunately for some reason the first 3 boats can't accept crews for some odd reason so line fishing might be the hardest (which might chase away players). Crab fishing is a completely different beast that I haven't even bothered to touch yet. - You can upgrade your boat, but you might want to know ahead of time that you will be saving up a lot of money if you do. My advice would be to save up for a new ship instead that uses nets. (I do not own the North Atlantic DLC, so I can't really say anything about that) Bugs: - Directly west of Hammerfest just south of the small island is a problem with the water mesh. You can see there are clearly parts of the water mesh not being present making you see the bottom of the sea. - For some reason the first boat you have turns around while you are retrieving your line. This affects the mini game and makes it a lot harder then it needs to be. - Line you cast can go nuts on it's own for some odd reason - Damaging your boat is way too easy for the slightest taps, this needs a rebalance. - The game hangs itself from time to time, it needs some stability love. Requests: - More seagulls would probably make a great addition as they are always seen near fishing boats and ports. Yes you can see some on occasion, but it's rather silly to see so few. - I know, unlikely to come with the new game pending, but still like to mention it. It would be awesome to see the map expanded to double the size if not 4 time the size.

It's great once you get the ideas, how to catch and gut the fish with the mouse and buy upgrades and add-ons for your boat, you earn enough to buy bigger boats and haul in more fish, realistic simulation with superb gameplay and music, full marks.
